Advantages: it really really works!, soooo quick to heat up!, boyfriend will love you more!
Disadvantages: none
Just a quick note to all of you out there wondering whether £90 spent on hair straighteners can ever be worth it?! In the words of sally (from when Harry met Sally) "Yes, YES, oh god, yes!" Just spend the money! I was in the same position just weeks ago, when I went to the hairdressers and experienced ghd for the first time. I was actually of the opinion that the girl doing my hair was obviously just trying to rush me through as she rough dried my hair and then got the straighteners out. However, having seen my fuzzy sticky-uppy hair become sleek smooth strands of gold at the merest sight of the irons, I immediately emotionally blackmailed my boyfriend into buying them for me, and I am not exaggerating one bit when I tell you that it has been a life changing experience! I have had friends literally flabbergasted when they have seen me out with my newly straight hair, friends that see me often are used to it now, but recently friends from London who I hadn't seen for a few months came down and they all remarked on how great my hair looked!! and once again I reminded my wonderful boyfriend how his investment has improved our life! (I have nice straight hair, and he doesn't get "hang on I need 45 minutes before we can go out to straighten my hair" using my old nasty steam babyliss irons, and then "Oh no there may be a slight drop of moisture in the air - I'm not walking outside anywhere!!" In brief, this thing is hot in a second, its very very quick, sooo effective its untrue, and easy to use (especially to those who are used to straighteners like me). Also I have noticed no real damage - even when I haven't dried my hair properly and I create steam! I haven't bothered buying the oil that you are supposed to use with it, but I have been using some other stuff whose name escapes me which I brought from boots and that seems to be just fine (and half the price!)
. What more can I tell you?? I have no regrets at all, and feel like a preacher when out as I want to go up to strangers in pubs, take them aside and tell them how wonderful they could look with the ghd's! Yours could look this way too! in the words of that lady from Father Ted: go on, go on go on go on go on.....

- 08/12/03 Re GHD, can I just say this was the best purchase I've ever made. However they do totally wreck your hair - split end central!
This morning my beloved GHD blew up in my hand, luckily no-one was hurt except my GHD. This has also happened to two of my friends GHD's.
As awful as that was I hope that the hairdressers I purchased it in replace it as I can't live without my hair wrecking GHD! |

- 04/06/03 My hairdresser occasionally uses these on my hair to great effect. I'm currently saving up for some! |
