My boyfriend was so sick of me refusing to go out because my hair was such a mess that his mission was to find a cure for me. After all his research and questioning many straight haired, shiny minxes on how they managed to keep their hair so enviably sleek, he discovered GHD?s.
Great, they only had to be like the most expensive ones on the market! I wasn?t too keen about spending £85 on them considering I spent the same about on Daniel Hersheson ones 2 years ago. But, I was sick of the DH one?s literally burning my carpet let alone my hair. They did work at first but my hair was as dry as the Sahara desert.
Also, I realised that I wouldn?t have to keep spending £10 a week on getting my hair blow-dried.
Scrolling on 2 weeks later I woke up and my hair was a major frizz. Think Curly Sue being dragged through the bushes?no wax was going to make me look like a hottie.
So I went out with a paper bag over my head when I noticed GHD?s were being sold in my local salon.
The hairdresser offered to try them out on my hair but I thought I wouldn?t have time to sit in the salon since I had to be at a meeting in half an hour. She said it would take 10 mins and I just thought cool!
She switched the slimline black straighteners on and they heated up in 7 SECONDS!!! Not only that but they were so hot so instead of having to feel the plates to check they are heated, a red light flickers when they are ready to be used.
I really wasn?t convinced my big ball of fluff could end up looking like an Oriental princess head but it did!
Within 10 seconds I had a cheque written out and they were in my bag. I was told that you shouldn?t use silicone based products with the GHD?s since they burn the hair.
The reason I bought these is simply because they don?t leave the hair feeling dry. In fact, my hair feels silkier and has grown a few inches. It?s something to do with the ceramic plates that stops the hair from getting damaged but I?m no scientist
so can?t explain why.
I only need to use them twice a week and you can even curl the hair with them depending what way you move the straighteners. They aren?t at all heavy either so are convenient for travelling.
Now when my boyfriend asks me out last minute, I can be ready in a flash!!!
