I have had my GHD mk4 straighteners for around 4 years and these are STILL going strong even though i have dropped them twice they are tough little things! You wont find a better straightener than these believe me i have tried lots and none compare to ghd's, they heat up in less than 30 seconds, you can straighten a full head of shoulder length hair in less than 5 minutes

A very well known brand in the hair straightening world and this is purely because it is the best of all I have tried. How they work Ghd's look like any other straightners on the high street, they have 2 metal plates which are able to heat up to 210 degrees. Now this is extremely hot and I must say, if you have fine hair ... Read the complete review

I have annoyingly thick hair and with thick hair comes a big job. Styling it every morning is a huge hassle. Even shoving it in a ponytail can be quite a job. Getting it straight is a very difficult challenge. I have had many straighteners stepping up to the challenge and these are the first that has done the job well and with much less ... I bought these straighteners about 4 years ago and have never looked back! Before owning GHD`s, I had bought 2 other cheaper straighteners and not been satisfied - they took ages to heat up and didn't straighten very well. My hairdresser recommended GHD`s, saying that although they were expensive, they were the best on the ... Read the complete review

So this morning I reviewed curly and now it uis time to be straight, straight hair that is and these are a top quality hair straightener from a brand you can trust, however the downside to quiality is price and these are not cheap. Straighteners have been part of my hair styling routine for about 6 years now and I very rarely go anywhere without straightening my hair first. Not only do they improve the look of my hair they also make it feel softer and more manageable. For years I used a cheapish brand of straighteners that was ok but when I could I always borrowed ... Being a young guy I'm very self concious about my image, and I have been styling my hair or doing something creative with it ever since...well I can remember, at first I didn't need a straightener as my hair was quite straight anyway, when I hit 15 my hair gradually became more thick and curly which made it a complete nightmare to style. ... Constantly wishing for straight hair which fell effortlessly into shape and fed up of misty winter days in which my hair would gradually turn from a smooth blow dried bob in to a frizzy mess I was drawn to GHD hair straighteners at a young age after my hairdresser finally solved my frizzy problem. I have had my GHD straighteners for four years running... and not once have they failed me! I have invested in other straighteners in the past (brands of Phillips, Babyliss) but often I found technical problems or they have easily broken, this might be down to the cheap price however. I have also found problems in the past, where my hair ... Read the complete review

I purchased my GHD hair straighteners 5 years old when I first went through a poker-straight hair stage, and they are still going strong!! Since then I have gone through wavy hair phases and curly hair phases, and I have used my beloved GHDs every time. i have been repairing ghds for over 5 years & must say the new 4.2 model is the worst. poor new type cable fitted shorts out after a few weeks. heater plates over heating & melting the backing plates due to thermister failing & blowing the thermal fuse. pcb failing. these new mk 4.2 models are not worth the money send them back to ghd under warranty & u will get them back. after a few weeks the same faults will return as they fit the same cheap crap parts that caused the fault in the first place.in my opinion stick with the mk3 or 3.1b models so much more robust than the mk4.2 models i have over 10 sets of 4.2 models in for repair not even a few months old & will be fitted with upgraded parts better than ghds rubbish parts. peter
