Girlz Only Hazy Days Dry Shampoo
Advantages: Smells Fresh, Cheap, Temporary Fix
Disadvantages: 150ml doesnt last long
I bought the Girlz Only Hair Care Dry Shampoo, named Hazy Days in Tesco for 99p.
This product claims to revive hair between washes. Now I have to wash my hair daily or else it looks like I have dunked it in a chip pan. Lovely I know! I tend to wash my hair before bed but if I wash it earlier in the day, say lunchtime I can usually get away with a quick spray of dry shampoo to see me through to the following evening.
This aerosol is a pale purple/pink colour with a black plastic lid and contains 150ml of shampoo. I never quite understood how dry shampoo works, and the claim that it leaves hair feeling fresh and clean, full of body and bounce really doesn't work for me.
They work by absorbing the excess oil in your hair and can use either oat or rice powder or tea tree to do the job. What this has in it I don't know because I couldn't locate any of those three products on the back of the canister. The information on the back is written in a place text which is approximately 1mm in height - it is tiny and unless you have amazing eye sight you aren't going to be any of the wiser. Also it has the same information written in 5 languages.
Take the lid off to reveal a pressure button just like you would see on a can of hairspray which you press down to release the shampoo. It recommends holding this approximately 20cm away from your hair when spraying - leave for a few minutes before rubbing in with your fingers or brushing on with your hairbrush.
I personally find that I brush my hair then spray, then use my hands to work it into my hair, as using my brush again only causes the product to be brushed out leaving me back to square one with greasy looking hair. I use a fair bit as I have long hair, but I tend to only apply to the top of my head as if the length of my hair is greasy, I am past a cheap alternative to washing it.
The brand Girlz Only have three different products in the dry shampoo range, Hazy Days, Party Nights and Dawn Till Dusk and I have absolutely no idea what the difference if between them except their name and the colours of the packaging. Having looked at a website selling all three they all seem to say the same thing except that the fragrances vary.
The Hazy Days fragrance is fresh and smells a bit like a teenagers body spray a light and floral scent which doesn't really linger on the hair once sprayed.
These retail in Tesco at £1.50 when not on offer and are widely available in shops such as Poundland and Select as well as the supermarkets.
I wouldn't recommend this product as a replacement for washing your hair, but if you find yourself in a situation where that is impossible it's not a bad temporary fix. I would recommend this product to assist you with styling, especially if you backcomb your hair and need a bit of grease to fix it in place. This helps find the balance between greasy and enough to style
Summary: Quick fix for unclean hair
