I have sensitive skin and that sometimes mutates as dandruff. I have learned from experience that when my dandruff flares I should stop using the chemical hair products and swap to a brand that is more natural.
The Clarifying Vitamin shampoo is effective on my hair, cleaning and restoring the shine while being gentle and kind on my scalp. The shampoo smells heavy and smells of avocado, that's not surprising as avocado is one of the main ingredients so the shampoo has the benefit of this oily fruit moisturising my hair and scalp.
It's gentle but effective and that's a rare combination with hair care products. I use styling products and do not wash my hair daily so often have a build up which this shampoo removes on the first wash, I have never needed to rewash my hair or add more shampoo during the process. It moisturises but doesn't leave my hair feeling soft so I follow the shampoo with a conditioner from the same company or another natural company.
My dandruff lasts for only a short length of time and I credit this shampoo for helping to shorten the time even more. The avocado for me is the magic ingredient as it works successfully in other natural hair products and brands, it seems rich and wholesome when used by The Green People and that shows in the way the shampoo is effective at washing my hair but in the caring nature of the product too.
My only disadvantage is the lack of lather, this is a creamy shampoo that works by being spread through the hair instead of massaging it into a cap of bubbles. This has always confounded me because I equate the most cleansing shampoos with a good lather, it's hard to change your way of thinking but now after months of intermittent use I realise this is one shampoo that works hard but gives good enough results to not need to disguise anything with bubbles.
My hair looks and feels healthy, clean and shiny when I use this shampoo and this effect is apparent as soon as I swap to it from my other chemical shampoo.
I have not seen this shampoo in any other size than a 200ml tube and this has a price of £8 - £10. It is described by The Green People as suitable for all hair types but I feel the heavy avocado addition would make it too rich for anyone with greasy hair, it may even make shorter hair limp and harder to manage.
