... ve been to both the academy and the salon, my most recent experience at the academy. I went for a full weave root touch up and it ended up not even looking like it was done! I then had to have my roots "colored" because she didn t put in heavy enough weave. Now for the cut, I asked for light layers and she took 6 inches off my hair! She only laid off the layer cutting when I asked if my hair would still fit in a ponytail. End result: I look like Stevie Wonder cut my hair. HORRIBLE. I ve had more bad experiences at the academy then good and will NEVER go back. My salon experience has been much more positive. The coloring is excellent, the cut is so-s...

... Aww! So my stylist was fine, I mentioned what I d had done before as he was doing something similar, and he said ah, did you like the result? and tweaked what he was doing, which was very thoughtful and observant. He did cut a lot off though, which is always quite unnerving! I even said to him half-way through, wow, that s short! . Hairdressers should know that most women, unless they ask for the certain amount cut off, will be sad when they walk out and leave so much hair behind! I can t speak for everyone, but I always seem to come out thinking ohhh it s so short! Can t wait til it grows! . The cut seemed quite generic to me. Not as catered for or as personal as...

... and Guy can be quite hit and miss. It is a very large chain of hair salons which pitch themselves to the modern young women who want up to date well cut hair. This can depend on where you go - I have found soho, portsmouth and clapham toni and guys excellent - they gave me exactly what i wanted, cut in well fringes from long hair and gave me a maintainable style which whilst fashionable was not too funky for my job (which interestingly two both asked for before cutting). However, Stevenage, Wimbledon and WGC gave poor cuts - i felt the staff had done their training but were not managed well - all individuals came out with a few "set" cuts the team seemed ab...
