Advantages: Cheaper than other brands, Has temperature dial, Actually works well

Disadvantages: Ceramic Coating starting to peel

I bought my Hair Tools Thermo-Ceramic straighteners in May of 2003, and I finally discovered the joys of hair as if "you just stepped out of the salon"!

I remember I had my hair cut, coloured and straightened in a salon and from that day on I went in search of the same kind of ceramic straighteners. I found them online at missgroovy.co.uk, and purchased them immediately! They cost me £50, and I remember using them for the first time, and feeling really quite smug as I walked outside with perfect, poker straight hair.

My hair is very fine, and when I looked more deeply into straighteners, I realised that buying these straighteners instead of forking out £90 odd for GHDs was actually a better idea than I even realised. These straighteners come with the genius invention of a temperature dial, something that GHDs don't have, so instead of totally burning my fine hair, I've managed to get maximum results with minimum heat and hair damage. These straighteners heat up from 150 degrees (for fine/damaged hair) up to 190 degrees (for thicker hair). The straighteners have four heat settings in total, suitable for fine up to thick, even afro, so all my friends are usually dying to style their hair at my house!

The only problem with these hair straighteners is because I've now had them for over a year, the ceramic coating is starting to come away from the aluminium plates - not so good! They still work well, but I've had them quite a while now, so I'm now thinking about my next pair of straighteners.

I would recommend these straighteners to people who have fine, or even normal thickness hair - you do NOT need to ravage your hair with the 210 degree heat that GHDs belt out, but always make sure you use a good quality straightening iron protection spray! Happy Straightening, ladies!
