Advantages: Extremely Straight Hair, Actually Work, Last a long time
Disadvantages: A tad expensive for straighteners
When my friend came into Loco’s for a drink... I noticed something strange about her! It took me a while to work out what but then I realised that her usually kinky hair was polka straight... even though it was raining outside, which as most girls know equals double kinkiness and frizziness. When I questioned how great her hair was looking she then went on to reveal her secret.... Hairtools Ceramic Thermo Hair Straighteners! Another look at her hair and I knew my hair needed some as well! I managed to find a pair on the Internet @ www.ukhairdressers.com for the bargainous price of £49. In most high street shops or online from stores such as ASOS.com they cost £70, so if you want a pair I suggest you check out ukhairdressers. I was amazed the first time I used them... they were ten times better then my Babyliss straighteners and they literally left me with Barbie straight hair... I was more than impressed with the result. I always straighten my hair in sections, starting from the underneath and finishing the top of my head, this would normally take me about half and hour, but the Hairtools straighteners halved this time. You can easily touch up in 5 minutes and find yourself with a perfect head of straight hair... which lasts the whole day... even through....the dreaded.... RAIN! It’s best to use a serum on your hair before you straighten with them however, as they get extremely hot! The serum helps to protect your hair better and the heat seals in your natural oils, so you get amazing sleek and shiny hair. They heat up in about 5 seconds, so there’s no waiting around if you’re in a hurry and there are 4 heat settings. The coolest for fine or damaged hair and the hottest is for afro. It still use the hottest setting on my hair as it makes it ultra straight, ultra quickly! When I first received the straighteners I thought I had been sent the travel size by mistake... but no they ar
e actually meant to be smaller (Roughly 2.5cm width by 20cm long). I actually find the smaller size is better and you have more control on styling with the straightener and can get closer to your roots, so you can even de-frizz those stupid little bits of hair that poke up! They fit in you hand much easier and are simple to clamp your hair with because of the spring mechanism! The straightener also has a LED indicator to let you know when they are switched on, as well as a slide button to turn them off... so you don’t have to at the wall! My flatmate spent £120 on a pair of GHD straighteners and she is absolutely kicking herself now! They look identical to mine and mine perform just as good a job as the “real” ones! There is no reason to pay £70 more for a straightener which isn’t any better! Overall I am soooooo impressed with my straighteners. My hair is always lovely and shiny nowadays, even after a night out, and after rain (with an umbrella). It straightens quickly and my hair appears to be improving condition! I highly recommend any frizzy girl who wants to become straight purchase a pair of these Hairtools straighteners.

- 03/09/03 Thanks. On the basis of this and Melanie S' reveiw I ordered and received mine last week with a free bottle of protector. I am so impressed with these compared to my old Babyliss. The two things that have stood out is that it is so much easier doing the back and they straighten much quicker.
So far I have been sensible enough not to use them daily like I did with the Babyliss.
