Advantages: promises sleek and shiny hair, 4 heat settings

Disadvantages: doesn't live up to the promises

I saw these straighteners on a posh stall in the middle of our local shopping centre. I wouldn't have noticed it if it hadn't been for my friend with me, pointing them out. Straighteners are a big craze everywhere, including in south east england! I had originally bought a pair which were ok, but the poeple on the stall offered to starightner a bit of my hair, which is long and wavy. It strightened my hair, and I decided to buy a pair, as they were £60, to be sold in salons after christmas for about £110-120. I decided that really, they were a bargain.
I was attracted to the hairtools ceramic straighteners for a number of reasons:
1) they looked very much like the well known and talked about king of strighteners, GHDs.
2) After reading the box I discoevered they were very similarly written about, saying they lock in your hair's natural oils, leaving your looking shiny and sleek.
3) they had 4 different heat seatings for different kinds of hair.
4) They seemed a bargain.
When I used my new straighteners for the first time, nobody noticed it was straightened. When I pointed my hair out, I was told by a number of people that my old ones did a much better job (remington power ceramic straighteners). I was of course annoyed, but used them a couple more times, trying out different ways (i.e using differentheat settings etc) but they still didn't make much of a difference to my hair. I then took them back to the stall around week later, where I had quite a bit of trouble getting them to refund the straighteners (whcih they told me wouldn't be a problem at the time of buying them). Most of the reviews for hairtools straighteners are full of praise, but I just want to let people know that they aren't perfect. My hair is quite long, not particularly think (but not thin either) and just wavy and the hairtools straighteners did not do the job they were supposed to.

I dont really have much use for hair straighteners as i general get a short back and sides, so therfore using them would result in an amazing sore head. a good read. Jimmy:)
