Harmony, was the very first ever hair dye I used and I've used a good few in my time!! To be honest I really didnt think that they still made it! I was a teenager back in the early 80's when I first started using Harmony, it came in a triangle shaped box which contained a small tube of the stuff and a pair of naff plastic gloves ( so nothing has changed!). I used Harmony basically because it was the only semi permenant dye about - my Mum wouldnt let me use a permanent dye something to do with better safe then sorry was her rationale for using a semi permanent hair dye so it was Harmony or nothing basically. I've got very dark brown hair so dye colours are very limited even now! Back in my Harmony days I was limited to a burgundy red or jet black. For about 18 months I was a born again red head(ish) - if I stood under a light my hair had a reddish hue to it. I was happy! It didnt seem to mess my hair up either! I then met a spotty youth who was the ultimate in goth cool ( well he was in my town lol) to impress said youth I decided on the night of a big party to dye my hair BLACK! I was out to impress!! So out came the magical box of Harmony jet black - I applied it as per usual and wow if I have to say it my self the results were pretty impressive ( I was terribly vain in them days !!) I proceeded to get ready for the party, my new black hair was sprayed and dolloped with gel and back combed to perfection, half a pound of slap was applied, on went the new white frilly new romantic blouse and black trousers and off I went to out to impress! It was still light went I left my house to walk the mile or so to the pub I was meeting my mates in, it was also drizzling but I ignored it, about 10 minutes from home I started to wonder why people were staring at me, but put it down to the fact that I looked drop dead gorgeous ( I said I was vain!!) and carried on walking, it wasnt until I spotted myself in the window of
a shop that I realised why people were staring at me - the hair dye had run - badly my face was light blue!!! I looked as if I was about to keel over with hyperthermia!!! This then ended my love affair with Harmony and the other affair never got of the ground!! I'd suggest if you do use this or any other hair dye RINSE IT well and dont go walking in the rain!!!
