Advantages: Glorious smell, spreads easily through my hair
Disadvantages: Gives my hair a dry feel, leaves lots of knots and tangles
Earlier I told you about the Head Candy Respect Shampoo, now I'm going to tell you about the matching conditioner which also cost 59p from the sale shelf in my local Boots.
The conditioner isn't very thick, it squeezes out of the bottle easily enough but still clings to my hair well and makes it feel nice and silky while wet. It smells delightful with a matching sugary strawberry aroma to the shampoo, this means that by using both products together I can layer myself in this lovely fruity fragrance which lasts practically all day.
This conditioner is from the Head Candy Respect range, which means it's suitable for people who have to wash their hair frequently. It's certainly gentle enough to be used every day, unfortunately it's so gentle that I found this conditioner didn't really do much to untangle my hair or condition it much at all.
My hair is quite short, cut a whisker above my shoulders, so it doesn't tend to tangle too much. However, with my usual conditioner a quick run through with a comb is all it takes to get rid of any lugs or knots but this Head Candy conditioner left me needing to brush it first before combing as my hair was quite knotted and dry feeling.
While my daughter was visiting the other day she washed her hair as the baby had got chocolate in it, now my daughter has waist length hair and after using this she was cursing as she brushed out all the tangles she had been left with. She adored the smell, as do I, but while I can get away with this conditioner with my shorter hair she said she'd never ever use it again as it left her hair feeling so dry and untameable.
It is a shame really because the shampoo is so excellent, this will not be wasted though as my granddaughter likes it and it seems to work much better on her softer nine year old hair.
The overall effect from this conditioner when my hair is dry is that it leaves my hair nicely scented and also makes it look shiny and healthy, while it left my hair tangled I won't hold this against it too much as for me it's no effort to brush my short hair. Those of you with longer or thicker hair will probably want to steer clear though or I can see there will be lots of broken hairs in the hairbrush and sink after you try to brush it!
Summary: Not as good as the shampoo, and people with longer hair will really struggle with it I think,
