When I saw matching Head Candy shampoo and conditioner reduced in Boots recently I decided to buy a bottle of each as I love the colour of it and also the smell, at only 59p a bottle this was an absolute bargain and I couldn't wait to use it.

The shampoo itself smells absolutely gorgeous, it's a kind of strawberry smell but more similar to the strawberry used to flavour sweets than fresh strawberries. I love the smell both from the bottle and also while I'm washing my hair with it, it lingers beautifully too and I have noticed that when I use it together with the conditioner the smell can last all day but even just using the shampoo on its own leaves me with lovely perfumed hair.

It lathers up absolutely wonderfully, after massaging the shampoo into my hair and scalp I noticed it was absolutely full of a rich and robust foam. I wish they could bottle this as bubble bath as I think there would be even more bubbles than my beloved Lush bubble bars! Each time I moved my head under the shower there were huge piles of foam falling from my head, but despite this I found the shampoo to be very simple to rinse out and it left absolutely no residue in my hair after a minute or two of rinsing.

I have shoulder length straight hair, almost predominantly grey now, and I found this shampoo washed my hair beautifully. I usually wash my hair every other day but found that after using this I could easily leave it for three or four days between washes, which is perfect for my as I hate having to spend any amount of time on my hair as it's just so boring!

This Head Candy is the Respect variant and this is especially for people who have to wash their hair frequently, a nicer way of saying for greasy hair really! Although I don't have greasy hair as a rule, I found this to be very cleasing and certainly gentle enough if I were to need to wash my hair more regularly than usual. My granddaughter is 12 and she has just started suffering from greasy roots, when she's used this shampoo I noticed how shiny her blonde hair looked and she was then able to leave washing her hair the following day which is great as washing her hair every morning is not good for her at such a young age.

I cannot fault this shampoo at all, I intend to go back and get some more if Boots have any left because it not only cleans very well but also smells so gorgeous that I could just sit and sniff the bottle all day!

Summary: A beautiful shampoo which I shall certainly carry on using.
