Advantages: works well on dandruff

Disadvantages: very expensive

Head & Shoulders shampoo is something I used to use years ago, but when my income reduced significantly I have to say I looked for a cheaper option, and until recently I've been using an own brand dandruff shampoo which did me proud and was much cheaper. Until recently that is because that own brand product no longer exists and so after several months of fussing and hunting, I appear to be back with the Head & Shoulders again.

I have hair which needs washing frequently (every other day at least) otherwise it looks lank and greasy and just awful. I also have a problem with dandruff which needs controlling, and so I opted to go for the Head and shoulders for greasy hair.

It's a shampoo which is fairly mild smelling compared to some anti dandruff shampoos, this one smells sort or vaguely of flowers, menthol and soap all mixed together, but not in an over powering way. It comes in a White bottle, with the Head & Shoulders 'h & s' inside a swirl logo on it, the lid is blue, and the writing and logo for this are blues and greens. The shampoo itself is pale blue with an iridescent touch to it, and has a creamy texture.

Apply liberally, scrub into scalp, wait for a couple of minutes, rinse thoroughly, condition and I'm done. My hair feels clean - A good start! I have no adverse effects from using it, not itching, no redness, no rash. (I have rather sensitive skin, and have to be a little careful which shampoos I use as I do react badly to some). I dry my hair with the hairdryer... everything still seems fine, give it a final thorough brushing, and I'm off to get on with my day. After 3 or 4 applications of this, the dandruff which I'd been suffering during my search for a new shampoo vanished, and I've been left feeling pretty impressed with this again. The only thing which does bother me somewhat is the price, at just over £2 for a 200ml bottle or approx £4 for a 400ml bottle, it is rather expensive although you don't seem to need as much of this to get a decent lather and to do the job properly as you do with some others. But, the choice for me at the moment seems to be buy this more expensive shampoo and have it work, or give up on the idea of dandruff free hair! I think I'll stick with Head and Shoulders, for a while at least!

Summary: Works well, but you do pay for it.

Please also take into account that this product is manufactured by Procter & Gamble, who carry out a large amount of animal testing. Might be worth including, as this would put many people off buying it.

Nice op. It is a bit harsh for my hair, which has been coloured for too many years!!I used it on the kids when they were small. Kim :-)
