Advantages: Takes away the flakes

Disadvantages: No matching conditioner

Yes, I hold my hands up - I don't just see flakes in the winter, I see them all year long. Or atleast I do if I don't use some sort of ant- dandruff shampoo to take care of the problem. I have had this problem since I was a kid. I washed my hair every day with a variety of shampoos hoping that something would stop it. Most stopped it for a period of time but then it would stop working. I really didn't want to use Head & Shoulders because it was highly uncool and also I really considered it a male shampoo. Also, when I had tried it out I found that it tended to dry out my hair to the point where is went very frizzy and unmanagable.

So, when I saw the adverts for the new range of Head & Shoulders products I was a bit weary but they were on sale so I decided to give two of their new products a chance.

I tried the menthol and the dry scalp care. I actually have a dry scalp as opposed to actual dandruff so I was encouraged by the fact that they had realised there was a difference. There isn't a catagory here for the dry scalp one but I will say here that it worked really really well. It was kind of weird because the first time I used it I could actually feel my scalp 'eating' it up.

However, this is about the menthol version so I will stick to that. The first thing that is noticed when the shampoo is applied to the hair is the strong but not over powering smell of menthol that is relased durring the lathering period. It does actually give me a bit of a pick me up in the mornings. That isn't its only effect though. Once that mentol gets to my scalp I can feel it going to work straight away. Its never painful but it sure does tingle.

Afterwards my hairs is soft and smooth and flake free.

My only slight complaint is the lack of conditioners available for this range. I have had to take to using an independent conditioner a few times of week just to keep my hair a bit more managable.
I would really like it if they put out conditioners to match their products. Some of the new range does have conditioners but if like me you need to dry scalp or the mentol versions there isn't one to go with them.

Good honest op. I like H&S because it's so much more lathery (not a word I know) than most shampoos, but this one made my nose hurt!!
Another great op. I've just been reading a few of yours and methinks I will be adding you to my circle.
