Advantages: Clears dandruff, Smells good, Helped my eczema
Disadvantages: Can leave hair a bit dry
Head & Shoulders - remember the adverts - the guy with huge flakes of dandruff on the shoulders of his suit - looked like ash from a volcano! Marvellous! However I do have a more interesting story to share... I have used this since I was a kid and it is true - it does exactly what it says. It reduces and gets rid of dandruff with ease. As long as you follow the instructions and use it on a regular basis. Lets get the shop-talk out of the way! It comes in various sizes. I tend to go for the 400ml bottle 'cause its big and lasts longer (more value for money)... A easy to open flip lid contains the bluey shampoo which reminds me of gooey tooth paste! The smell - well - nothing to shout about but it is pleasant enough for the purpose - a soapy smell with a faint hint of mint (that's probably where the tooth paste idea came in). Instructions are clear - if a little tiny - and are displayed (on my bottle) in other languages. A truely Euopean experience this must be :) Other than the hype, the instructions simply tell you "lather, rinse and repeat if required"... Easy stuff this shampoo lark! Now - the interesting bit! Ta dah! I suffer from dry skin and occasional Eczema - unfortunately from stress related stuff. Never been able to control it particularly well either and it is something I get embarrassed about - especially on holiday on the beach or in a swimming pool. Not long ago my old doctor retired and a new one arrived. I went to see him about things in general and mentioned about my eczema. He tried a tube of some yellow 'orrible stuff on it but that didn't work and looked like bruising when I put it on! On returning to see him - he said - "Well believe it or not, have you tried Head & Shoulders on it?" I obviously said no. He advised putting some in a bath and washing with it. As he said - it is only shampoo, a milder form of soap and it
won't hurt you. In fact - because of the way it is made (specially formulated) it contains useful ingredients that may well help with eczema... A little sceptical I went and tried it out! After a week or so I started to notice the eczema starting to fade. Within three weeks it was virtually gone! Amazed! I can tell you I was! Thanks to my doc' he has saved me much hiding under T-shirts on the beach! I can not say if this would work for everyone, especially if you have a more serious skin condition or allergies, but it did help me! Again - with all advice like this - speak to your doctor first before trying anything out :) So - I have to rate this highly - I have no excuse! And the extra big strawberry on the pie? I can just use one shampoo to bath n' shower n' wash my hair in when I need to! Now all I need is an all-over conditioner to be extra shiney with added bounce (Mmmmmmmm!?!?!) D :)
