Head & Shoulders Classic Clean Conditioner
by Whizz11
I had mentioned in a previous review about Head and Shoulders shampoo that I sometimes suffer from a dandruff breakout where my scalp gets a bit flaky and a bit itchy. Its not the nicest feeling and its not the nicest look either, no one wants to look like they've got snowflakes in their hair, especially when you can do something about ... it. The way in which I do something about it is to use a Head and Shoulders treatment for about a week or so and I find it clears it right up for me and gives me back a nice looking scalp and hair.
I always like to use a shampoo and conditioner in conjunction with each other so you are using the same type of product so when I use the shampoo I will also finish off with this Head and Shoulders conditioner. I always need to use conditioner as otherwise my hair will be really knotty and have a really horrible feel to it.
Head & Shoulders say that this Classic Clean Conditioner has a formula, containing zinc, which not only helps keep your scalp healthy and up to 100% flake-free but also combats itchiness and tightness as well. Plus, the pH-balanced formula is gentle enough for everyday use and leaves your hair looking and feeling thoroughly clean.
After I have shampooed my hair I apply this conditioner as normal by squeezing out a dollop and then working it through my hair. Unlike other conditioners that I use I actually apply this one onto the top of my hair and my roots. I find other conditioners are usually too heavy for this but with this one from Head and Shoulders I like to massage it into my scalp to make sure the formula really gets to work on my flakiness. I then let it sit for a few minutes whilst I do other things in the shower (shave my legs, use shower gel, etc,) and then I rinse it off. I find a little goes a long way and it really smoothes into my hair. Then when I comb my wet hair I find it combs out really well and I have no tangles and its really smooth. After I have dried my hair I find its really soft and smooth and very manageable and like I've said above this conditioner really works well at getting rid of my itchiness and flakiness in just a few days so I would definitely recommend it if you have the same problem. Head and Shoulders Colour Care Shampoo
by kissandmakeup
I do much prefer to use a really good quality, and therefore really expensive, range of hair products as my hair is coloured, thick, long & difficult to manage and I have found that premium products such as Joico really do make a world of difference to it. However, when times are hard my luxuries are one of the first things to go and ... so I decided I was going to have to resort to using a bog standard shampoo!
After trying a couple & hating them I decided to try this product because some of the others had left my scalp slightly dry & flaky - a problem I had never had before. I bought just the shampoo and not the conditioner, as I like to use a more intensive conditioner, and for a 250ml bottle it cost me just over £2. There are bigger, and therefore possibly better value, bottles available but I wanted to try the smaller bottle first in case I didn't like it. This brand is available in most supermarkets, Boots, Superdrug etc and as with anything it is worth looking out for offers on it, which I have frequently seen.
As far a fairly basic hair products go I am pretty impressed with this one. Firstly it has a gorgeous fresh clean smell, secondly you don't need to use a huge amount and it lathers up really well - nice and rich feeling - and thirdly it pretty much instantly sorted out my dry scalp - which I guess it should do really as that is the whole point of the product! I have found it is fairly decent at retaining my colour and it certainly keeps my hair shiny without making it greasy. My hair felt lovely after using it, nice and silky soft but without being fluffy or flyaway, I also found it very manageable.
Having never used this product before, because I have never suiffered with dandruff previously, I now realise it is not just good for those with a problem scalp, in fact it is a lovely, gentle, non-irritating, fresh smelling product that is suitable for all hair types I would say. It doesn't do miracles for coloured hair but it is certainly better than many in this respect. Read the complete review |

Head & Shoulders Classic Clean Shampoo
by pootlegirl
I am fortunate enough not to have a problem with dandruff, my problem is that, whilst on a good day I have lovely wavey hair, on a bad day (and there are always more of these!) my hair is a huge frizzy mess! Pre-children (when I actually had money to spend on myself) I would buy expensive shampoos, conditioners, de-frizzing serums, you ... name it I tried it, forever searching, but never finding, that miracle combination that would give me lucious locks every day.
Then, having squeezed every last drop out of whatever shampoo I was trying that month but not having the money to replace it I reluctantly reached for my dandruff suffering husbands Head and Shoulders Classic Clean Shampoo. As I massaged it into my hair I imagined the frizzy disaster that I would have to deal with, the straighteners would have to come out I was sure! Imagine my amazement when I returned to the bathroom a couple of hours later (I had let my hair dry naturally) to see smooth, silky, waves and gorgeous shiny hair! I couldn't believe it. I put it down to not having used it before, after all, I'd lost count of how many times I thought I had found the perfect product only for my hair to be in a worse state than ever after a week of using it.
However, 5 years later and I am still using it! I like how well it rubs in, it leaves my hair feeling clean, it's gentle enough to use daily when necessary and to top it all off it is half the price of the shampoos I used to use! And, although I don't have dandruff, my husband does and this keeps it at bay for him.
I have tried other types of Head and Shoulders (2 in 1 and Silky) but both my husband and I end up with crazy unmanageable hair within a week of using them so always return to Classic Clean. Read the complete review |
