Advantages: Left my flyaway hair soft, shiny and manageable

Disadvantages: Sickly, over-sweet smell

There wasn't a specific category for this particular shampoo, so I reckoned I'd just list it under "General".

Anyhow, on with the show and the review. I'm definitely not a one-shampoo kind of girl, I always seem to be trying new ones or buying things on special offer. I'm not hugely fussy about shampoo and I don't really place that much store by designer products, but I was very impressed with Clairol's Herbal Essences Fruit Fusions Refreshing Shampoo.

The shampoo is marketed for normal hair, and contains pomegranate, lychee and persimmon extracts in "pure mountain spring water".

Here's the lowdown:

**Does it actually work?**
All hair is different, and certain products suit certain people. But for me, this product works a treat, leaving my fine, flyaway hair feeling soft and manageable. I find it gives a good thick lather which feels like it's really cleaning your hair, which is a nice sensation.

**What does it look and feel like?**
It's a clear, bright pink liquid, fairly thick and definitely not nasty and watery.

**What's the packaging like?**
Very neat, a basic clear plastic bottle with a green lid. Printed on the back of the back sticker is an image of fruit which shows through the clear coloured liquid - the design of the packaging is fairly simple but effective.

**Does it live up to its claims?**
Well...I have to admit that it didn't leave me feeling exhilarated, but then I wasn't really expecting a shampoo to actually do that! It also claims to enhance silkiness and shine (which it did), to balance natural moisture (which it also did) and to leave hair soft, luminous and light (not sure about the luminious bit, but my hair did feel really clean and soft).

**How about the smell?**
Here is where I feel it falls down, unfortunately. The formula is basically meant to smell like fruit, but in my humble opinion the smell is far, far too sweet and becomes sickly. This is a real shame as the texture and effects of the shampoo are so good, but I really can't overlook the fact that the smell is overpoweringly sweet and, rather than being natural and fruity as it is billed, is instead a bit artificial, like sweets.

**Who makes it?**
Proctor & Gamble. The UK telephone number is 0800 181 184.

**How much is it?**
£1.59 for a 200ml bottle.

**Where can you get it from?**
Herbal Essences are widely available everywhere and you should find that most supermarkets and chemists sell it. Wilko's often run good special offers on it, buy-one-get-one-free or 3 for 2.

**Recommended?**
Yes, because of the fact that the stuff WORKS, unlike many other shampoos. The smell doesn't linger after you've washed it off and my hair is lovely and soft afterwards.

Summary: Summary: Product does actually do what it says, but shame about the sickly fragrance.

I use this stuff sometimes, but waver towards boots own lavender shampoo. This stuff is good though, so you're right in what you say. Good review. Kate x

You've got some good info in there, but I'd have preferred to see this without the question and answer format
