Advantages: Kind to hair, smells great.
Disadvantages: More expensive than some others but worth it.
I think its quite possible that I am the hair colouring queen of the world. I get bored with my hair colour so easily so I do tend to dye it lots. I've had a couple of disasterous experiments recently and ended up ginger for a while! So last week, in the middle of a medieval history lecture I decided I needed to be a brunette again. My hair is curly, and can be frizzy sometimes so dying lots isn't really good for it so I needed to pick a brand of hair dye that wouldn't kill my hair. I'd never tried Herbal Essences before but it looked really good and promised deep shine and conditioning and long lasting colour. Its easy to apply and comes with careful and simple to understand instructions. You apply it dry and massage it from roots to tips, which takes a little practice, best to ask a friend to help. Depending on how dark you want your colour you can leave it on for up to 45 minutes. Unlike a lot of permanent hair dyes it doesn't start to itch or sting after a few minutes. Then you simply add hot water, lather and rinse throughly. Then you add the conditioner and leave for a couple of minutes. The conditioner is really rich and leaves your hair smooth and shinny. The dye and conditioner smell good and you don't have an amonia pong hanging around for the next week. Herbal Essences dyes are also really kind to your hair and don't dry it out. They offer a large range of funky colours so what your taste you should find what you are looking for. The only problem with Herbal Essences is that it can fade in a few weeks if you don't look after it. Top marks!
