Last year I decided to go blond for the first time ever, and my friend – who worked in a salon did a nice professional job for me fairly cheaply. Which was great. Unfortunately she then left and I had to find somewhere that I could get my roots done every six weeks without paying the earth. The novelty of being a blond soon wore of when I was paying £20 - £30 pound a time!

So, suddenly my natural colour was looking like a god option, except I couldn’t stand the thought of growing my roots out and having a bright blond contrasted with the brown. Enter Herbal Essences Permanent hair colour. I spotted a shade called dark blond, which was not far off my own colour and decided to give it go. Success!!

The dye was really easy to use, although a bit drippy when you’re applying it. I had to use two bottles because my hair is thick and past my shoulders. It came out a really natural shade that sort of blends in with the brown roots. Most people think it’s my own colour!

The product smells lovely, and my hair was nice and soft and shiny afterwards – what more could you ask for!
