Advantages: Lovely colour and condition

Disadvantages: Time

I bought Shade 36 of the Herbal Essense range - bright orangey/red.

The instructions are easy to follow and you apply it onto dry hair so you don't get any annoying drips anywhere.

The gloves supplied actually fit my hands - normally I have a real problem here so full marks to Clariol. I have quite long hair and with some colours I need 2 bottles - this one had plenty left.

It does not smell of ammonia at all in fact it smelt lovely - just like their shampoos so my eyes ddin't water from the fumes.

I looked in the mirror once I'd applied some of it and was horrified to see it had turned black (real black) - I ran back into the bedroom and grabbed the pack from the bin to make sure I'd got the right colour and it was OK.

It advised leaving on for 40 mins so took quite a while and seemed to take forever to rinse clear. The sachet of coditioner given was lovely - really rich and made a difference.

Initially I was horrified with the result - You could see me coming from miles away but after 3-4 washes it settled down and the colour is lovely - very bright and glossy. My hair feels in lovely condition not dry like some of the dyes I've used.
