I love Herbal Essences products, I have tried so many over the years ranging from their shampoos and conditioners to the leave in conditioners. They just smell fabulous and generally leave my hair looking lovely and smelling fruity, how could anyone resist. I have only come across one Herbal Essences range that wasn't suited to my hair and that's the Bee Strong but other than that I'd recommend any of their products to my friends.
So when I came across the Beautiful Ends protection cream in a pound shop of course I had to buy it. I find the products are overpriced when at full price and I always hunt them down in pound shops or occasionally buy them at BOGOF. But for a pound you can't go wrong so I snapped it up. The usual price in a shop would be £4.79 so do shop around to get the best deal and regularly check any pound shops.
It comes in a bright red pump bottle which I find really handy with hair products. And it smells fruity and fresh and sweet, but not overly sweet. It contains Raspberry which explains the sweet fruity smell. And it also contains silk extracts, well, that makes it sound lovely and soft and surely it must be great for your hair but I'm not sure how much silk extract it actually contains and how much of it is just a selling technique and trying to make it sound good.
I wash my hair and condition it, whether with Herbal Essences products or other brands (such as TreSemme) and I have had the same results from the protection cream afterwards. Once I've towel dried my hair I pump about 3-4 times and then rub the creamy white liquid together with my palms. I then simply run my hands through my hair concentrating on the ends. I have long hair that I colour regularly so it can often feel dry and get damaged easily. Having used this product I find my ends aren't split as much and it feels stronger when I brush it through.
Whilst leaving my hair to dry naturally it feels soft and smells lovely. it is easy to style once dry.
Overall this is a fabulous leave in treatment for your hair if you suffer from split ends and breakages. And if you can find it in a pound shop like myself it is a bargain and you should definitely stock up!
I've got thick, unruly red hair which can sometimes be a nightmare to manage. Any product promising to help me tame it is very, very welcome indeed! I've tried everything from serum to hair masks and sometimes too much product can leave my scalp itchy, sore and flaky so I decided to go right back to basics and try a well loved shampoo range of many households; herbal essence. I actually say this range being advertised on TV promising to banish my split ends leaving my strands in beautiful condition! So I went out to buy the shampoo, conditioner, hair mask and leave in conditioner.
My first impressions of this product were that it smells absolutely gorgeous. It has a fresh, fruity scent that really had me pulling my hair over my face throughout the day so I could smell it! I worried about using all these products at once but the consistency of the products are quite thin compared to other damage control products that I've used before that are quite thick and sticky in consistency. After using all the other products I smoothed on the leave in conditioner onto my damp hair before I left it to air dry, and the smell of the product as said before is amazing!
The leave in conditioner itself absorbed very well into my hair without leaving a greasy or sticky residue. The conditioner also dried along with my hair feeling weightless while protecting my hair against the heat of blow drying and straightening. After my hair was dry and had been styled my hair felt soft for the the first time in months, the ends of my hair (which are really prone to splitting and breaking) felt like silk running through my fingers and after a few uses I noticed a significant difference in my hair.
Overall I think this is a great product, its definitely a favourite for me and I've used many products for my hair! I've found that herbal essence works well with my hair as I style a lot with straighteners, and I would recommend this to anyone with hair similar to mine. The only thing that might put me off is the price. Sometimes I can find this range in different stores at good prices (such as 2 for 1 offers) but sometimes it can be expensive. I would definitely recommend doing some research before going out and buying it :)
I bought this not too long ago as part of a 3 for 2 offer with the Beautiful Ends shampoo and conditioner too. I hated the shampoo and conditioner, and found that they left my hair feeling quite heavy and as though it needed to be washed again no matter how much I rinsed it in the shower. This cream however is so much better than the shampoo and conditioner and actually works!
The product comes in a red bottle with with a pump action nozzle on the top. On the front is the usual herbal essences logo and on the back the directions for use and the ingredients. The pump nozzle really helps you control how much you dispense from the container, I find one or two pumps is enough to work through my hair, which is mid to long in length.
To apply simply dispense a little into your hands then rub your hands together to work the cream up a little bit, then apply through your hair. I only tend to apply this to the ends of my hair to avoid any greasyness or heaviness around the roots. Once ive worked it into the ends I tend to rub a fine tooth comb through it to get rid of any excess, then I blow dry as usual. I found that this cream makes a massive difference to the ends of my hair and really makes them look alot healthier. I normally suffer from terrible split ends as my hair can be quite frizzy and messy so I spend alot of time styling and straightening it, this cream definitely reduces the visibility of them. The ends of my hair look a lot healthier and less dry and ragged, I also find that I dont have to focus as much on straightening the ends either and on top of this - the cream smells lovely and fruity just as all herbal essences products do.
Overall I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who suffers from frizzy unruly or damaged ends to your hair. I was very suprised at how well this stuff actually works without weighing my hair down or making it greasy. You can buy it from most places such as Boots or Superdrug and even larger supermarkets. At the minute Boots have it on a 3 for 2 offer with other hair care products - but I wouldnt recommend getting the matching shampoo and conditioner as I thought these were awful! On its own the bottle costs between £4 and £5 depending on where you shop - and its definitely worth investing in!
I do generally really like Herbal Essences products - they are competitively priced nice quality and usually smell great too. I often have a Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner on the go but I recently purchased this styling cream too.
I have naturally curly hair that can be dry and frizzy, and over the years I have discovered that the only way to keep it in check is to use lots of conditioner and then let it dry naturally without brushing it. I don't actually own a hairbrush or hairdryer! But one thing I have to do to keep it under control is to use a product or two when I come out of the shower. Gels and mousses are no good for my hair type so I always use cream-based styling products, sometimes mixed with a little serum. Creams seem to really help keep my hair under control so when it dries it is smoother and less frizzy, and the curls are more defined.
This product promises to help protect your hair against split ends and breakage, and usually costs £4.79 in Boots. However it's currently half price so you can purchase this for a much more reasonable £2.39, with which you will also receive 8 Boots Advantage Card points.
Taming the frizzies
This comes in quite a large red bottle, with a pump action nozzle at the top. I like this design as it helps you get just the right amount of cream out as you are in control of how much is dispensed. I find that four or five pumps is about right for my hair, which is quite long. It is a nice rich cream, and it has a lovely fruity fragrance.
This is very easy to apply to the hair and it is simple to smooth through. I tend to apply this from the mid lengths of my hair down to the roots, before smoothing my hands over the top of my head to keep the frizzies at bay. I like that this 'disappears' into my hair so it doesn't coat the strands or leave any residue.
Once my hair is dried, I can really tell that this cream has helped to smooth my hair. It feels soft and manageable, and even though it isn't specifically designed to do so it helps tame my frizzies too. And I feel this affect lasts all day so my hair doesn't suddenly get dry and bushy by the end of the day. The lovely fresh fragrance also lingers which is nice.
I do sometimes suffer from split ends, and I can't really say whether this makes any difference or not, but I have to say I have been using this most days now for a few months and the ends of my hair don't feel as dry as they have done in the past, so perhaps this product has helped. Either way. I am a big fan of it anyway and I would definitely purchase this again, especially at half price!
In summary ...
This product from Herbal Essences is easy to use and really helps to smooth and tame my hair, leaving it feeling lovely and soft. It smells great too, and for half price is well worth trying out. Recommended.
I'm always looking for new solutions to my thick tangled and damaged locks and came across this half price at super drug many months ago and have been using it every time I wash my hair since!
This is pretty red 150ml bottle with a typical pump dispenser which I always prefer when it comes to hair and face products. It allows an ideal amount of product to be dispensed without having to squeeze it out of some awkward tube. The one thing I would say about this product is that sometimes the product dries up a little in the pump and when you push the pump down it can squirt out pretty fast and make a mess everywhere!
HOW TO APPLY
Well this is something that really just depends on the person and their hair type. Generally, the instructions are to run a through pumps of the conditioner through damp or dry hair, focusing particularly on the ends. I have quite thick, dry hair so I usually use a good 3-4 pumps of this product and run it through my hair from about 4 inches from the roots right down to the tips. Often after straightening or curling my hair I will use a small amount of this product, rub it between my palms and gently stroke it over my finished style to smooth away any flyaways and make it smell amazing!
The conditioner is quite a thick white cream which has a gorgeous smell (like a strawberry/raspberry smell). At first I was a little alarmed about it's thickness but massaged into damp hair it really doesn't get absorbed straight away, detangling hair almost straight away.
This product claims to contain silk extracts (which sounds a little gimmicky to me) and to protect hair against split ends and breakage. All in all though, there is actual very little of the typical marketing of extravagant patent pending peptide chain amino keratin complexes advertised all over the bottle, yet it really does what it says on the tin and I was very impressed.
Overall, I was very impressed with this little versatile red bottle. I've used it as a leave in softening conditioner, a detangler and a smoothing serum, and shall I mention; all for under a fiver! It is easy to find in places like Tesco, Boots and Superdrug and Herbal Essences are nearly always on some sort of promotion so giving it a go for half price should be perfectly feasible sooner or later. It smells absolutely divine (I want to eat it!), and the smell really does linger for a few hours after.. I have to admit I have used this after styling once or twice just as a sort of hair perfume... it smells that good! It really does soften hair without making it greasy or leaving any build up or residue and makes my hair much easier to brush and style after. :)
I bought this leave-in split end protection cream a little while ago when the new Herbal Essences range was on offer pretty much everywhere. From memory, I think I bought this from Superdrug, and like I say it was on offer. At full price it costs £4.79 according to the Boots website, although I notice this is a brand which is often on 3-for-2 so it's worth waiting and then stocking up.
When I bought this cream, I also bought the shampoo, conditioner, and hair mask from the same range. I was really impressed with the shampoo and conditioner, so I ended up getting everything from this range. This cream is a leave-in treatment, which claims to protect your hair against split ends and breakage. It not only improves the condition of your hair, but also protects it against further damage.
The cream comes in a red pump dispensing bottle, and is white in appearance. It has the trademark smell of the products in this range, smelling floral and light. The smell does linger on my hair for a few hours after using this product. The directions say you can use this on damp hair before blow drying, but you can also use it on dry hair. I've only used it on wet hair because products can be too heavy for my hair when it's dry.
This product has such amazing results, I use it every time I blow dry my hair. I use the shampoo and conditioner from the same range, and then this product just finishes the look and makes my hair silky smooth when I blow dry it. The product is easy to use, you just apply it to your hair, paying particular attention to the ends. When I first used this cream, I made the mistake of starting with the top of my head, and it dried in a bit crusty and left a bit of build up. Since then, I've applied it to the ends and mid section of my hair, and I now avoid the roots. This seems to work well for my hair.
When I'm drying my hair, I barely notice this product. If you use the right amount (about the size of a ten pence piece for my hair, which is very thick), and apply it correctly (mainly to the ends), it feels really light and unnoticeable. When my hair is dry it feels lovely and silky smooth, and light.
When I first started using this product, I couldn't believe the difference in the condition of my hair. It's usually quite frizzy after blow drying, but after using this it was smooth, sleek, and frizz-free. I used to have lots of tufty bits of hair too, where my layers are, which I think is caused by not having regular trims as I'm trying to grow them out. This product smoothes those down, making my hair look in incredible condition. When I first bought this product, I thought I'd probably just use it now and then, but now I feel like I can't wash my hair without using it, because it makes such a positive difference to my hair.
As for the split ends, well I know nothing actually gets rid of them, but the ends of my hair don't look nearly as dry as they did before I started using this product. It seems to nourish the ends of your hair so I would say it's ideal for anyone trying to grow their hair as you can get away with avoiding regular trims without looking like a scarecrow.
This product is amazing, and I will definitely be replacing it when it runs out. Overall, I would say this is good value, even at full price, but if you can get it on offer, that's a bonus.
