This shampoo smells good, it's floral with the fragrance of Turkish Delight. Unfortunately the beautiful sweet floral smell only lasts until you rinse the shampoo from your hair but it is quite strong while you are going through the process of shampooing.
The shampoo creates a thin but strong lather that saturates the hair, I massage it into my scalp and ensure the length of my hair receives attention and this is made easy because of the consistency of the lather. It rinses out easily and leaves no residue in the hair, I recommend using a conditioner after washing as Color Me Happy is moisturising but needs something extra to condition the hair to a healthy level.
After washing my hair looks clean and shiny, it stays clean for two full days and that is neither good or bad as that is the length of time I would normally leave between hair washes.
I colour my hair and this is made for coloured hair but I couldnt tell any difference in the health of my hair between using this and any other shampoo from the same price as this.
I don't like the bottle shape or awkward top. The bottle shape because it doesn't squeeze well and I feel I am leaving behind and wasting shampoo, sometimes there is at least one third of a bottle left and already it is too hard to squeeze it out comfortably. The top is of the style that you press it in to reveal a small hole, I think this design combined with the hard to squeeze bottle is wrong and makes using the shampoo more difficult than it needs to be.
Last time I looked for this shampoo I couldn't find it and again today in a very large branch of Boots I looked but it wasn't available. I liked it but do not think I'll miss it if it is no longer being sold, I like the range of Herbal Essences shampoos but think they all do a very similar job to each other so if my favourite isn't available I buy another and settle for a difference fragrance. I will miss the rosy floral fragrance of Color Me Happy but think unless on offer this shampoo was overpriced, it's a very nice shampoo but with no added benefits even though marketed to be developed for coloured hair.
I rarely used Herbal Essences until I bought this as a replacement due to my usual shampoo being sold out, and in all honesty i've never looked back! The packaging is really bright and certainly grabs your eye, whilst the pirce, around £3, is very reasonable as it lasts a long time. The lid is easy to use in the shower, unlike some fiddly tops, and it does not come out too fast so it's easy to see how much you have got on your hand. It smells really fresh, and the scent stays on your hair, so leaves your hair smelling gorgeous! I colour my hair regularly, and found that it is as good at keeping the colour locked in when I have red (a notoriously hard colour to keep) to when I have brown hair. Aswell as keeping the colour, it also revives it and makes it a lot brighter. It made the length of time it took for my hair to get greasy a lot longer, and helped defrizz it slightly. Another plus is that it is easy to transfer to another bottle when going on holiday for example.
Herbal Essences Shampoos have recently undergone a makeover. It was the bright and vibrant packaging (and the 3 for 2 offer) that made me originally buy this product. It is very cheap £3.20-ish for a bottle, which works out as 80p for 100ml, which is a lot less than most shampoos.
The low price made me a little dubious, but it is one of the best value shampoos I have used. A little goes a long way as it really foams up and washes out your hair. I only need to use one wash to get hair spray out! In addition to this, my hair can go 2 or even 3 days without a wash and still feel soft and look healthy.
The packaging is great and the bottles have fun facts on them! The colour me happy shampoo is a bright pink colour. It contains acai berry and silk extract, I'm not sure if this does much for my hair, but the product smells nice. It is great at making my colour last longer, it doesn't fade at all, this is a great job for the price!
This is my favourite shampoo, it's available everywhere, and you can nearly always stock up when it's on special offer, it's such good value and does a great job with my hair, leaving it clean, healthy looking and most importantly with a bright colour, I would recommend it to anyone, and suggest you use the matching conditioner too.
I recently dyed my hair from its natural auburn colour, to a deep, dark brown. At the time, I was using a normal Herbal Essences shampoo, and I decided to give this one a go.
First of all, the packaging is really lovely, I think some people would buy it without reading the bottle! So aesthetically, top marks. The vibrant colours really catches your eye, causing you to stop and take a look at the product. The writing and instructions are witty and informative, set out in a clear, easy to read way.
Whilst using the product, the shampoo goes really foamy, meaning you can get it all through your hair without using too much in one wash. It also smells gorgeous, and the scent stays on your hair for a long time afterwards.
I had been noticing that my hair lacked shine before I bought this shampoo, and afterwards, after drying my hair, I not only saw that it was bright and shiny, but also that it was voluminous, without being too big or frizzy. It made my hair thick and full of life.
I would use this is conjuction with the conditioner to keep your hair sleek and smooth. It's great value for money and you get amazing results.
Herbal Essences - Clairol Colour Me Happy, Shine Enhancing Shampoo for Coloured Hair
**WHAT IT DOES**
Herbal Essences is a hair care range. This particular product is a shampoo, which has been specifically designed for coloured hair. It is supposed to replenish your hair making it more manageable. It has conditioners in it to protect your hair leaving it radiant and healthy. So in short it is supposed to get your hair clean and condition it at the same time.
I have to say when Herbal Essences changed their packaging I didn't realise it was there product as it was a radical change. At the start I thought it made the product seem cheaper. Since then I have changed my mind. The bottle is funky with a fluorescent green lid and trendy pink in colour. The writing on the bottle is in white, which is clear to read, and the Herbal Essence logo, which is a circle, is a hologram of green lines. It looks very modern and girlie. The bottle is see through so you can see the shampoo inside but as the bottle is pink in colour you can't be sure what colour the shampoo is as the product can not be seen clearly. Up the two sides of the bottle has groves which are in the shape of bubbles, which is a nice touch.
The bottle and lid is made out of plastic so it is durable and can withstand being dropped without breaking. It also means it is very waterproof. The front label is plastic so if it gets wet it isn't destroyed easily. The label on the back of the bottle is made out of a more paper like label, which is less waterproof than the front label. It can withstand water however will start to deteriorate especially at the edges if it spends a lot of time in the water.
This shampoo includes Acai berries and satin. Acai berry contains about 30 times more anti-oxidants than grapes. It is also rich in Omega 6 and 9 to constantly nourish your hair. Satin will nourish your hair from root to tip.
The lid is not screw off instead you have to push down on one side of the lid to open it and then squeeze the bottle to get the product out. This is useful as it saves the hassle of having to open and close the lid as it opens easily and closes in the same way. It means less water leaks into the bottle especially if you drop the bottle by accident into water with the lid open.
The shampoo itself is pearly pink in colour and is moderately thick in consistency. It has a pleasant smell of berries, which is overpowering but your hair doesn't smell overly much like this after you wash it. Personally I think the smell is too sweet and isn't to my taste my partner thinks it smells like airfreshener. I prefer aqua smelling products but saying this I feel my hair smells fresh after using it.
To use you put a blob on your hand, you don't need to use a lot as it lathers easily. Then massage your head lathering the shampoo into your hair thoroughly until you are satisfied your hair is clean and then rinse thoroughly. If you feel the need you can repeat this process. Personally I don't feel that it is necessary as it cleans my hair completely and easily the fist time I use it but it all depends on your hair type.
When I think of Herbal Essence I am reminded of the advert with the girl in the shower saying yes yes yes! So does it really lives up to what it has been portrayed.
Well I feel that this is a good product to use as it cleans your hair making it feel fresh. It claims to condition your hair but I feel that I still need to use a conditioner, as it doesn't condition my hair enough to make much of a difference. It lasts me longer than other shampoos as I don't need to use as much to make sure my hair is clean and fresh. It lathers very easily.
I'm not crazy about the smell as it is sweet and you can smell the aroma when you use it but at the end your hair doesn't smell like it so to me it doesn't matter. You need to take care to wash it out like all shampoos but if you don't use too much this will not be a problem.
I would recommend this product for washing your hair but the smell could put you off. It will leave your hair soft and fresh however you will need to use additional conditioners. Personally I'm not sure I would purchase it again.
