Advantages: Smells delicious, smooths and gives shine to hair
Disadvantages: Hight perfume may irritate sensitive scalps
I managed to get this in the bargain corner in my local Tesco's once again, the packaging for this product and it's now being sold as Hello Hydration in new style bottles. I didn't let this put me off one bit for the 40p price tag it was marked up as so I snapped it up off the shelf.
The packaging is a clear blue plastic with a flip up lid but like I say this is now going to be replaces with a solid blue plastic bottle with the light green circle on it. As they are bringing out new packaging for this it's worth looking out for the old style bottles in the pound shops or offers on the new style bottles that they are doing to get people familiar with the new look.
I did pay an incredible 40p for this 400ml bottle but it normally retails for a full price of £1.99 for the 200ml bottle and £3.29 for the 400ml bottle on Boots.com. Taking into account the full price it's definitely worth looking for the offers (oh and you can currently get a free sample of this exact shampoo on the Herbal Essences Website if you click on to the 'user of old Herbal Essences?' section, just a little tip for you peeps).
The shampoo is a bright blue see through liquid and has quit a decent consistency. The scent is amazing, fruity, fresh and zingy. It contains coconut and Hawaiian hibiscus extracts and smells like fruit salad in a bottle, I was really looking forward to trying this.
The shampoo lathers in to a great pile of foam on top of your head and it really feels like its cleaning your hair thoroughly, as well as filling the bathroom with a wonderful smell. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get the conditioner from the bargain bucket as well but I will definitely be looking out for one of these in my local bargain store.
Even though I didn't use the conditioner, my hair did feel smoother and once styled, definitely shinier. The shampoo is specifically designed for dry and damaged hair and as I have mine coloured, I try to use products that will help to keep the moisture in my hair and shampoos that aren't harsh.
I was really pleased with the outcome of this shampoo and only wish I'd managed to use the matching conditioner for two reasons, one to see the full effect of both products and two because I really love the smell of this and my normal conditioner overwhelmed the scent a bit which was a shame.
I think I would buy this again and I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for any more offers!
Summary: Tooty frooty!
