Advantages: Smell great, silky and shiny hair

Disadvantages: None

My local Savers had decided to discontinue my usual brand of shampoo, which left me needing to find a new one. After some browsing, the vivid bright blue bottles stood out, and I picked up the Herbal Essences Deep Nourishment and Shine. It is infused with coconut and Hawaiian hibiscus, and is for dry and damaged hair. Having dry, frizzy and straw like hair, I decided to give it a go.

I used the same night, and was looking forward to getting the 'orgasmic' feeling from washing my hair that is shown on the television adverts!

After soaking my hair, I squeezed some of the shampoo into my hand, about enough to fill my palm. The smell hit me straight away, a gorgeous fruity smell, with an almost 'after scent' of coconut. The scents gel together very well, neither is more over powering than the other. I have long, thick hair, and usually need two palm fulls of shampoo to cover my hair, but this lathered up really well and I managed to cover my whole hair and work up a great lather to get a good clean. When it came to rinsing, I was shocked at just how many suds I washed away, and it did take me a good few minutes to wash them all out.

Already, my hair felt softer, but I still had to use the conditioner. I always use more conditioner for my hair, usually around half a small bottle per wash. The Herbal Essences conditioner isn't very thick, but its not too runny, and I managed to get away with using 1 handful to cover my hair. I worked it in and rubbed it well into my problem area, which is my dry ends. I left it for a minute or so before rinsing.

As soon as I had finished rinsing I could feel the difference. My hair was really soft and was easy to comb through. Once it was dry, it was still soft, the smell still clung and made my hair smell lovely and fruity. And, something I rarely ever had before - shiny hair!

I have now been using this brand for around 6 months, and I have no intentions to change as I love it. At the moment, I am still using the old design Fruit Fusions that I can still get from Savers. I know the designs have changed, I just hope they haven't changed the formula with it.

At £1.29 for a 200ml bottle, this is a great bargain shampoo and conditioner.

Although, I am disappointed that I dont get that same 'orgasmic' experience the women in the adverts do!!

Summary: A fantatic shampoo and conditioner
