In December I bought Herbal Essences 'Hello Hydration' shampoo as I was low on funds and wanted something cheap but effective for my hair. I've just about finished both 200ml bottles, so they've lasted me arouond 6-7 weeks. This review is for the conditioner only, but I did use it with the matching shampoo. The 200ml bottle costs £1.90 in Wilkinsons.
The bottle is easily recognisable as herbal essences due to the bright (blue) colour and curved shaped bottle. I like the curvature to the bottle as I find it is easy to hold and fits nicely into my hand, especially in the smaller bottle size. The bottle is top down, and unlike the shampoo the bottle is dense so you can't see how much product you have left. Similar to the shampoo, the lid is a soft snap lid which is handy in the shower as it's easy to use.
I read a dooyoo review on Herbal Essences recently who pointed out that the conditioner bottles become difficult to use. After reading this I realised that yes - actually they do! I just got on with it but now I think about it, my current bottle and some previous bottles have been problematic. I find that air or something gets into the bottle and I have to really shake the bottle down and then squeeze heavily to get the product out, which isn't ideal.
The product has a picture of a coconut on it and claims to have essences of coconut and orchids. I find it has a very subtle coconut and floral smell, which is really pleasant. The conditioner applies easily and rinses out really easily. Other than the bottle needing a shake, it's easy to use.
I find that post wash my hair is shiny, fresh and manageable. I don't think this conditioner is particularly anything spectacular, but when I was skint just before Christmas and needed a cheap conditioner to tide my over, this was a good buy and the results are more than adequate. For a lower end product, this conditioner is pretty good.
