I am always keen to try new hair products and so when I spotted the new curvy shaped bottle of Herbal essence seductively straight shampoo I could hardly wait to try it.

My hair is fairly curly and can be very unruly. The new herbal essence seductively straight shampoo promises, and I quote, to help tame your hair into a sleek line of shine. This sounded just the sort of shampoo I had been looking for! The shampoo contains silk and pear extract according to the bottle. The shampoo is manufactured by Procter and Gamble.

The shampoo comes in a sexy looking curvy plastic bottle. On opening the flip top lid I was impressed with the lovely pink shade of the shampoo. It is very thick and has a slightly pearly look. The shampoo smells very different to the old Herbal essence. Gone is the flowery scent that I have come to love and in its place is something that smells far more chemically to me. I can't really describe the scent but suffice it to say I wasn't too keen! I tried hard to detect the scent of pear but can't say I could.

The shampoo is easy to dispense and lathers well. It certainly gives the impression of being very rich. It was easy to rinse out and after conditioning I was ready to dry my hair. I could hardly wait to experience the sleek line of shine that would soon be mine!

After blow drying my hair I was really disappointed by the results. Although unruly, my hair usually looks shiny after washing. However after using this shampoo my hair looked lank with no body. The next day my hair had started to look greasy too. I thought I may have used too much of the shampoo as it is very thick. The next time I washed my hair I used a lot less of the shampoo. However the results were the same. Lank locks!

Unfortunately I can't recommend this shampoo as it really doesn't deliver its promises. If you would like to try it for yourself then it is widely available. Tesco are selling a 400 ml bottle for £3.26.

Summary: herbal essence shampoo
