After an hour and 10 mins, My roots turned a frightening shade of white, (yes white), while the rest was still mostly yellow, with patches of brown and orange. I washed my hair immediately (for fear that it would snap off at the white roots if further processed). Covered my head in intensive conditioner and left it to dry for a few hours. The top o...more

Express Review on Jerome Russell Bblonde Permanent Hair Lightener

I wouldn't recommend this. After doing the strand and skin tests a few days before, my friend helped me use this dye on all of my hair. It was hard to apply as it's quite thick and pasty rather than a shampoo texture of other dyes. After 15 minutes, I rinsed the dye off. My hairline came out bright white, while the rest of my hair was stripy orange, yellow and brown (natural colour), even though I followed all the instructions. After many tears I booked and emergency hair appointment and got my multi-coloured mess sorted out, which took 3 hours and cost £75. The product left my hair damaged, dry and not the colour promised.
The hairdresser checked the ingredients and explained that the dye is one of the worst things to use, as there's no protection included, whatever the box may say.
DO NOT USE.

I am darker blond now that I am getting older and I have fine hair. The treatment left me with orange strands and white at the top. I lost most of my hair it just fell out. I did exactly as it said in the leaflet. strand test and all.
It costs a lot more here in Ireland by the way, I paid 16 euro's for it.
They told me with fine hair you can lose the hair and I should not have used the product. Tomorrow I am going to a shoot for a film I am doing a small part in. They will have to provide with a wig and scarf.

DON NOT LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE WHO SAY IT DOESNT WORK
it it a very good product that you can buy to dye your hair blonde in the comfort of your own home.
BUT i am already very blonde but naturally brown and i get terrible dark roots and this product was excellent for dying my roots and it also gave the rest of my hair a lovely colour.
IT DOES WORK IF YOUR HAIR IS ALREADY VERY BLONDE

Do not use this product. My natural colour is a dark blonde, which I had been dying a brighter blonde for about 3 years. Last year, I dyed my hair dark brown and had kept it fairly dark since then. Recently I got bored with that, and wanted to return to my blonde colour (without paying salon prices), I read every review available and finally settled on Jerome Russell B-Blonde Hair lightener, for medium to dark hair. I followed every single step correctly, and my strand test turned out a beautiful bright blonde, so I was fairly confident. After applying the bleach mixture to my whole head (except the roots as these must be done last), I waited ...  Read the complete review

I change my hair color ALOT, which usually involes using bleach, either to get blonde hair, or a base for bright colors. Previously, I just used the cheapest bleach around, but then I found Jerome Russell. JR bBlonde bleach comes in two strenghts, for light-medium hair & medium-dark. You can use the bleach on very dark hair, but I'll get to that later. If you have quite light brown hair, then don't get the higher volume bleach, 'cos it actually won't work aswell, stick with the lower volume bleach. Packaging - BBlonde comes in a cardboard box, with the bleach volume on the back - check you have the right one first. The box has a picture on the ...  Read the complete review
