Advantages: Reasonably Priced
Disadvantages: Left my hair greasy and lank
Because I colour my hair a lot, I was looking for a product to give it that much coveted "just stepped out of a salon" gloss. Having read several reviews on the product, I was excited to try it.
In terms of price, I thought it was quite reasonable. Like all John Freida products, there was a product formulated for use on my particular shade of hair colour.
The packaging, like almost all John Freida products, was overly faffy to use and there was far too much of it. Like other reveiwers, I found it highly unneccesary and very wasteful - I thought we were supposed to be working on saving the environment?!
Anyway, enough about the packaging - on to the actual contents!
After shampooing my hair (with a John Freida product, naturally!), I rinsed and applied the glaze. I left it on for the required amount of time (about 10 mins). The product quickly stained my hands and shower and I had to be careful to rinse the product quickly before it became too difficult to remove. As I was apllying the product, I noticed my hair felt very dry and stringy. With a glaze, I expected it to feel smooth and silky - the same as your hair does when you apply a decent conditioner. When it came ot rinsing, my hair felt much the same but I thought I would give the product a chance and not judge until my hair was dried and styled. When I had dried and straightened my hair, I noticed that my hair no longer felt dry - it felt like I had rinsed my hair in a big vat of chip fat! It felt coated, stringy and smelt quite repulsive...so much so I washed my hair again immediately.
Maybe my hair wasn't suited to this product, who knows? One things for sure, I won't be using this product again!
Summary: Absolutely awful - try it at your peril

dahlin - 11/02/08 I tried the version for blonde hair with exactly the same results, what a waste of money. G. x |
