Advantages: shiny, long lasting, anti fade

Disadvantages: need to use the conditioner to which makes product expensive

I used to be bleach blonde and used the John Frieda range for blondes and everyone used to comment how healthy and shiny my hair was. So when I went dark I thought why not try the brunette range as well

The shampoo is £5.35 as is the conditioner however many super markets are doing a 'buy one get one free' on the range so look out for these products. It does sound expensive but with shampoo I do believe you get what you pay for.

The packaging is simple and clearly states the ingredients and what it will do.The shampoo is large and lasts me a month.

The shampoo is dark and has sheen and the smell is very nice bit like body shops coco butter cream. You only need a little bit of this shampoo as it goes a long way.

The shampoo does not over lather which is great and is easy to wash out. I tend to rinse out the shampoo with cold water. Cold water closes the cuticles which helps your hair retain its shine. I do think you do have to use the conditioner of the same brand as well if you have thick long hair like mine.

After the first use i thought my hair was shiny but not as shiny as it should be. So the next time I washed my hair I did an experiment. I washed it in a normal shampoo and conditioner and went to work. No one commented however then the next day I washed it in this shampoo and conditioner. Every one commented thinking I had coloured my hair because it was in such good condition. So what I do now is alternate shampoos. I use this one once a week as it seems to work better like that than using every day.

My hair is black home coloured and this shampoo is great and stopping it fading. This shampoo does come in two shades a lighter and a darker; make sure you pick the right one as it does make a difference. This product is brilliant if you have natural or coloured dark hair, however if you have high lights in it I would say using a shampoo for coloured hair rather than brunette is better for you.

Summary: good used once a week and look out for one get one frees
