John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shine Release Moisturising Shampoo

Advantages: Luxurious shampoo which gives great shine
Disadvantages: None
When I first starting buying my own shampoo I always went for average priced brands so when I was bought a John Frieda gift set one Christmas I had never tried this shampoo before. From the first use I was a convert and despite having tried other expensive shampoos since none have impressed me like the Brilliant Brunette range. The range also includes conditioners and hair styling products.
Packaging
As you would expect from a more expensive shampoo this one comes in a good quality tube. The plastic doesn't crease so the tube retains it's shape. It has an easy to open flip cap and you can easily control the amount of shampoo you dispense. Although you can't see through the packaging to tell how much is left I really like the look of this shampoo in my shower.
Using the shampoo
Suitable for all brunettes whether natural or coloured this shampoo is 'multi-tone revealing', it has crushed pearls and sweet almond oil in it which gives it a luxurious feel and fragrance. I apply about a 10 pence piece sized amount of shampoo to my shoulder length hair and it lathers up instantly making it really easy to wash my hair. It also rinses out easily leaving my hair feeling clean.
I use this shampoo about once a week and also use a brilliant brunette conditioner and I love the way it makes my hair feel and look. There is definite extra shine to my hair after using this product and despite colouring my hair it helps to keep it in really good condition.
Price and Availability
This shampoo is available from stockists such as Boots, Superdrug and Asda. As it is usually about £5 for 250ml I tend to wait until it is on offer before buying. You can currently (October 2012) buy 3 for £10 at Asda which makes it a bit more reasonable.
Would I recommend?
Yes, this is a great high quality shampoo which gives the results you would expect for the price. Although I can't afford to use it every time I wash my hair I feel like I'm giving my hair and therefore myself a treat when I do use it.
Summary: A brilliant shampoo from John Frieda
