Advantages: GOOD FOR COLOUR TREATED HAIR, TARGETS DIFFERENT HAIR COLOURS

Disadvantages: A BIT PRICEY

~JOHN FRIEDA SHINE RELEASE SHAMPOO~

~THE PRODUCT~

I have just had a shower and washed my hair and thought that I would review the shampoo that I have just used. I colour my hair quite regularly and so I need a shampoo that will help the colour to last and ensure that my hair stays in good condition. As a treat to myself I used to buy expensive shampoo from hair salons. However, in an effort to cut back, I decided to try a mid range shampoo and as John Frieda had recently launched a series of shampoo's aimed at hair colour I decided to give them a try.

~OPINION~

I use one aimed at Brunette hair, choosing Chocolate to Espresso as my hair is quite dark. I have used both the original formula (translucent liquid) and moisturising one (thick and creamy). It markets itself as having 'Shine Release' technology - not sure what that is, but it works for me.

The bottle feels expensive and what struck me most was the gorgeous smell upon opening. It smells a bit like coconut. It reminds me of holidays and smells quite fresh and clean. This is probably what I like the most and lasts on your hair all day (well for the first day, it wears off by the second)

You need only a small amount and boy do you get a great lather. If you inadvertently put on too much, it takes ages to get out. Using this shampoo means that I can generally wash my hair every other day. I also use the conditioner that accompanies the range.

As with most shampoos, I just wish that you could hang them up in the shower, but that is a minor complaint. Anyway, I must like it as I have used nothing else since it came on the market. My hair is glossy (not quite like the models on the tv!) and most of all it feels soft and smells lovely (well to me anyway).

There is also a massive list of ingredients on the bottle - always feel like having so many complicated sounding ones can't be good.

***AVAILABILITY***

As I have said they also do shampoo's for other colours - blonde etc. The bad part - this is not cheap shampoo, however it is regularly on special offer in Boots and Tesco and so I only it buy it then, when it is BOGOF or money off so I never pay full price. As you don't need to use much, it does last a long time. It is £2.84 in Tesco at the moment - saving £1.50, so if you want to give it a go - now is the time (only until the 20th January).

Summary: FOR SILKY SOFT HAIR, JUST LIKE THE MODELS (WELL NEARLY) GIVE IT A TRY!
