Advantages: Leaves my hair so shiny and gorgeous I love it.
Disadvantages: £4.69 a bottle is pricey but there's always offers on in Boots!
I have loved using Brilliant Brunette Shampoo's and Conditioner's for a few years now. When I first starting using them I was very dubious about whether they would have the effect on my hair that it says it will, but I am always really pleased with the result.
The Brilliant Brunette haircare range is by John Frieda, who also do the frizz-ease range. For quite a big tube of this shampoo it costs £4.69. This is expensive for me for a bottle of shampoo so I usually only buy it when it's on offer on Boots which it frequently is. The current offer is save £2 on all John Frieda products so I bought this shampoo recently because it was only £2.69. I've bought it in the past when it's been on offer at half price too, I usually stock up on it only when it's on offer or I have a voucher.
In the Brilliant Brunette range there is a moisturising shampoo, and the one which I use is volumising. I have used the moisturising before but I prefer volumising as my hair is thin and gets greasy quickly. They also offer there products in 2 'shades.' I have darker brown hair so I use the 'Chocolate to Espresso' products, which brings up an image of lovely brown dark shades.
Brilliant Brunette say the Volumising shampoo will thicken my fine thin hair whilst giving it shine. They also say:' It optimizes the effects of light for flawless dazzling brunette hair and fills in and mends porous areas of hair strands to create a more uniform internal structure for optimal light reflection.' Now seriously do they really need to make it sound so technical? They're obviously trying to blow our minds away using such fancy words to convince us to buy it! Basically what I understand from the Brilliant Brunette range is that it's made for brunette people (obviously!) and it will enhance the colour of your hair. There, did I use any long fancy words there?!
The tube itself is great, it's a soft plastic so it's really easy to squeeze the product out of the bottle, especially when it's running low! When you squeeze the shampoo out it's a thick, light brown but transparent liquid. I like to be quite liberal with my shampoo, I like lots of lather on my hair and this shampoo certainly lathers up nicely! It doesn't stink strongly of chemicals either which is a nice bonus. It rinses out nicely, just like any other shampoo. I don't notice any immediate difference with my hair to be honest.
Once my hair is dried and styled I LOVE the appearance of my hair! Always when using this shampoo I have my best 'good hair days'. The brown colour to my hair just seems better, and there's a healthy shine to my hair. It isn't just me who's noticed the difference in the past either. An old boss once asked if I'd dyed my hair because the colour looked lovely. Also, and this really isn't a lie, my HAIRDRESSER asked if I had a colour on my hair because it had a lovely shine to it and a lovely colour.
This is my favourite shampoo and I love the effect it has on my hair. I personally prefer the volumising one, but people who already have thick hair should maybe go for the moisturising or original products.
I highly recommend this range to all your brunette's out there!
Summary: A most for Brunette people looking to enhance their colour.
