Advantages: Works Very Well, Only A Small Amount Required (Very Strong), Lasts Long
Disadvantages: Expensive, Slightly Odd Smell
After cutting away split ends on my hair and with my new hair straighteners, I wanted to keep my hair in as good condition as possible to stop it getting dry and rough. I bought this product as it is from a top beauty specialist and it has continued to please me since I have been using it. It is definitely a lot better than other conditioners out there as my hair seems to maintain it's good condition for a longer time as opposed to other conditioners such as Garnier ones.
The conditioner comes in a silvery plastic tube with a hard plastic top. The tube is soft so you can gently squeeze it to get some conditioner out but it usually pours out when the top is open and it's upside down anyway. The lid is great as it fits on securely and doesn't come undone easily so no precious conditioner will be escaping if you accidentally drop a closed bottle. There is a large indent for you to undo the top and the conditioner will flow out a small hole. The tube has a black stripe around the top with the John Frieda Collection logo. This conditioner is part of the 'Frizz-Ease' variety and is for straight hair. It helps to cut down on frizz and keeps straight hair in good condition.
I bought a 250ml tube for under £5.00 but the price varies slightly from place to place. It is one of the upper class conditioners so is only available in better supermarkets including Tesco and other beauty specialists such as Boots. The conditioner itself is a white rather runny liquid. It has a very distinctive smell too, which is pleasant at first but smells slightly odd after. However, to know that the product does such a great job is the most satisfying thing so I don't care in the end how it smells.
You only need to use a very small amount for the product to work efficiently. You simply squeeze a small amount onto wet hands in the shower and apply this to your hair. It is best to apply to wet hair so it easily spreads throughout and can get underneath to all the parts. You should rub it through your hair including the back, sides and top, giving it a good rub to make sure it is all over your hair. After this, you should comb through your hair a few times, and this is what helps to keep it straight and the product will work best then. You should definitely leave it in your hair for a couple of minutes at least so it can get to work to condition your hair so don't bother using it if you don't have enough time in a rushed morning.
Being a conditioner, the formula does not foam up in your hair but does make it relatively soft and gives it an arguably nice odour. The 250ml tube contains a lot of conditioner considering you only need to use a very small amount, as this is strong stuff! Being a guy, I have relatively short hair so need to use even less, but the tube will last me around three months with daily use. In conclusion, it's a product well worth buying. The results are excellent as my hair is softer, smoother and definitely less frizzy too. The conditioner really keeps your hair in tip top condition and is well worth the money.
