Having lost my beloved straightening conditioner to the whims of the discontinuing gods, I've been wroking on trying to find an alternative solution to my wavy/kinky hair. I bought Frizz Ease Straightening Potion as part of a 3 for 2 deal at Boots, alongside their straightening conditioner, and I really wish I hadn't.

Spray it onto your hair following a shower, and it should both magically straighten your hair (I assume that's why it's called a potion - made by the straightening sorcerors!) as well as protect it from the damage caused by the hairdriers of the world.

The spray claims to offer a brilliant straight shine without weighing down hair, but the reality for me was somewhat different. Following blow drying, a slightly greasy residue was left on my hair, almost as if it hadn't been shampooed at all. And while the hair didn't feel overly weighed down, it lacked the shine and vitality my hair normally has. And, as if to add insult to injury, my hair was no more straight than normal.

I used the spray twice before realising that it wasn't worth persevering with - I'd rather call it a bad buy than walk about feeling like I have a dirty mop on my head. Other Frizz Ease products don't have this effect (the conditioner purchased at the same time is pretty effective and leaves my hair soft and clean) but this one just doesn't live up to the claims of an otherwise trustworthy brand.
