Im not blonde, but i had this product recommended to me by a friend, who thought it would be effective in holding my flicky outy bits in place. My hair is just above shoulder length at present, and layered through the front, so i like to flick it outwards with my ghd's, and ive discovered that this is a look that works for me but the flicks always fall out after about hald an hour and im left with flat, straight, boring hair. Ive tried loads of different gels, gunks, waxes and sprays to hold it in place and they all serve only to make my hair hard and wiry, without holding my flicks in for any longer than normal, so i went to boots and was pleased to find a ... I've already written an opinion on John Frieda Beach Blonde products, in which I explained that I had been lucky enough to be at Boots in the very week when they were on a 'three for the price of two' offer. I am a long term fan of John Frieda haircare and, having picked my first two products, was dithering about the third when my friend began to experience severe panic symptoms about the length of time left on our 'pay and display' ticket. So I obligingly grabbed almost the first thing that came to hand - sheer blonde 'Funky Chunky' - without really knowing exactly what I had grabbed, Maybe I subconsciously yearned to be ... My sister recommended John Freida's Funky Chunky to me and I don't know how I managed without it! On the bottle it's described as a texturiser and that's exactly what it does. I've received loads more of compliments on my hair when I've just left it to dry, then slapped some Funky Chunky on it than when I've spent ages styling it! Rub some onto your fingers and push it up through the roots of your hair to achieve that trendy ' I've just go out of my bed and I wasn't just sleeping!' look. Or use a smaller amount to separate small wayward strands like my sister who has a bob, does. The hair will stay in place ... Read the complete review

John Frieda Funky Chunky texturizer is now my favorite styling product! My hair has always been straight, and very boring to say the least. I never really took the time to really style it with any products. When I woke up in the morning I'd wash my hair and then blow-dry it and then I'd straighten it with a steam straightening iron, and it would be shiny and silky, but have to actual style to it. *yawn!* Up until a short while ago, I had straight, shoulder-length hair with a few highlights and very very subtle layers. As I said, BORING! So I decided it was time for a change. Ya, a BIG change! I looked through countless magazines in ... Read the complete review

I have been using john frieda sheer blonde products for quite some time now and I must say they are the best that I have tried. I have recently tried the funky chunky. It seems to be a cross between gel and wax it highlights the colour as well as separating. It styles and holds too. Also I find that with artifical blonde it tones down brassiness and gives a more natural colour. All in all I most certainly think that the john frieda range and funky chunky in particular is well worth a try. ... Read the complete review
