Advantages: Different, shiny and nice colour
Disadvantages: Damaged my hair
I dye my hair so often and I am forever using different dyes, always expecting different results and trying to find one which suits me! I picked up my box of hair dye at Superdrug for around £10.00, I think it is so expensive but I really wanted to try out a different kind of dye, I had never used a foam one before and lots of people went on about how good it is.
I know that Superdrug often have it on sale so look out for this, I am sure Boots do too, and Morrisons! just keep a look about.
The packaging is sleek and simple.
It has a picture of a woman across half of the box, and then the bottom half is the hair colour which you have chosen, along with a little spray of the foam to show you what it looks like.
In the middle it has the John Frieda logo and some information on the product.
On the back it has lots of information on the product.
Inside the box is an instruction leaflet, ALWAYS DO A TEST and always make sure you read the instructions very carefully.
There is also a pair of gloves, conditioner and the colour and developer.
To use this simply just rock the bottle back and forth once the colour and developer in inside.
I picked up the shade dark brown and put on an old t-shirt, vaseline around my head! I was all prepared.
You apply this foam to dry hair! When I used it I could smell it, and it must be the worst smelling hair dye I have come across, it just wasn't pleasant in the slightest.
The foam has a good texture to it and is very light, it comes out easily and I found it really easy to massage into my hair, there was no burning sensation or reaction to the product.
As you go along your hair becomes more foamier, and easier to work into your head, at one staged I looked like Barbara Windsor!
I found there was loads in the bottle for my just below shoulder length hair, I decided to just use it all anyway and kept smothering it onto my hair.
I wanted maximum colour effect so I left it for 30 minutes as stated.
During that time I noticed the foaminess disappeared completely and dripped down my head!
This comes off very easily though and leaves no stains so I was okay.
Time was up and I washed the colour from my hair, then applied the conditioner which made my hair feel extremely soft and smelled quite nice too.
It is a big tube and you only use a tiny bit each week to help seal the colour in your hair! so dont use it all at once.
Once hair was dried, I noticed my hair was very shiny which was good, but also a little dried out and frizzy! It damaged my hair more than other dyes.
All over my hair took really nicely, except my roots were a little bit lighter so I was a bit disappointed at this, but still the over all look was good.
The colour lasted 2 and a half weeks, I wash my hair everyday.
I dont know if I would buy this again..I have a kind of undecided mind with it.
Summary: Undecided
