Advantages: Works great and smells ok.

Disadvantages: A bit costly.

As I got older my hair started to get thinner, I am not going bald or anything but it has made my hair feel and look very fine and it is very, very hard to do anything with fine thin hair.

My hairdresser who I have used for nearly ten years and trust greatly pointed me in the direction of John Frieda Thickening Shampoo, as her particular salon did not sell this I knew it was not to make money so I hunted it down and tried it.

I found it in Boots the chemist and for a small blue tube containing 350ml it cost me £5.45 so ok it had better be as good as she said. After just a few washes I noticed my hair had a bit of volume again and it made doing my hair much easier. I would not say this actually thickens hair but it does do something to give you that volume to make your hair more manageable and better looking so it is worth the money in my opinion.

You basically just wash and rinse your hair as you would with any other shampoo, there is a conditioner to go with this shampoo that I now use also and together they give you very manageable hair. After washing and conditioning just blow dry and style your hair how you wish and you will have great looking hair with plenty of volume.

The shampoo has a pleasant scent, not the best I have ever smelled but nice enough and pretty subdued so you don't really smell it after about half an hour or so anyway. My hairdresser gave me a few other tips to help but when I use this shampoo regularly it does the trick so no need for anything else, if you suffer from thin fly away hair and can afford to spend over £5 on shampoo then I recommend this strongly.
