Advantages: Made my hair bright, and smelled subtle, yet pleasent
Disadvantages: makes hair hard to brush before drying
My hair is blonde, I'd probably say it was honey blonde but there are a lot of cool tones throughout it. I wanted to highlight the lighter, cooler tones and also bring out the warmer shade's, and brighten them. I bought this shampoo from Boots, it was three for two on john frieda products at the time so I can't remember exactly how much it cost but the website list's it as costing £5.37, (www.boots.com).
I had already read alot about purple shampoo's, and how they work, and the results they should/could give, but my hair had a few different shades, so I was prepared for any result! The shampoo smell's great, its quite subtle, and the packaging is attractive too.
I used the shampoo for around 2 or 3 weeks. I used a 10p peice size blob, as my hair is quite short, and i did not use it on my extensions because they already look bright and you can see the highlights (I wish my normal hair was like this!)
The results were very good. The shampoo really did it's job. My hair was noticably brighter, and the honey tones looked slightly cooler, which made my hair look really healthy. It made my hair appear as though I had just been to my salon for a touch up, and it smelled fab!
I even recieved comments from friend's asking if my hair was brighter, which was great!
My hair after i blow-dryed it also felt soft and sleek. Often if this happens I think 'oh no!' because it goes really flat and I can't style it, however it still had volume, much to my relief!
The only critizism I had for this product is that my hair was very hard to brush after using the shampoo, I even used the same products conditioner and I still had trouble. And while it was soft and sleek after drying, this was after blowing it semi straight, so if i had been in a rush (luckily, i rarely am!) then i think it might have still been a little dry. Once blow-dryed though, it was fine.
I would deffinitly get this shampoo again. It lasted so much longer than i expected, so it's value for money. It did what it said it would, and even though it isn't cheap, I felt like I hadn't wasted my money!
Summary: Great product, especially for highlighted hair
