Advantages: Lightens hair, noticeable difference after one wash.
Disadvantages: Purple shampoo, bottle can occasionally leak meaning messy!
Having naturally mousy hair, I opted for a range of different toned highlights as well as low lights to brighten things up a bit.
We've all been there right? Bored, no harm in spicing things up!
I opted for John Frieda Sheer Blonde Colour Renew as a close friend (who also has highlights) recommended it to me, because I was worried about the colour fading in my hair after a few washes and this is how I found it.
The key is don't use too much at once, I've got quite long thick hair and I found a portion about the size of a £2 coin is enough to suffice one wash.
Anyway, lather, leave in for 2-3 minutes, rinse and then follow up with any conditioner (You can use the conditioner of the same brand if you're wanting it to be even more effective but for purposes of testing the shampoo I decided to use a basic brand of conditioner).
Once out of the shower I dried and straightened my hair and there was definitely a small difference, my hair looked brighter than it had before (it being about 4 weeks since I'd had my highlights done) and felt much softer.
I felt pretty again!
Now that is just the effect after one use, after using it every day for a week I noticed a bigger difference, now remember ladies, it is only a shampoo, not salon highlights so you can't expect miracles, but if you are looking for something to give you a little lift in between salon visits then this is a product I would definitely recommend.
I took it to cornwall with me, and after a few days in the sun coupled with use of this shampoo with every wash I noticed a significant difference, I was asked if I'd had my hair done recently!
I will also be taking it on holiday with me to Turkey come October to see how my hair fares there.
I would recommend this to anyone with blonde highlights for definite, it's quite good value for money as well if not overused, don't plonk too much on your hair and then whinge because it's all gone in a week!
Happy highlighting ladies :).
Summary: Would recommend to anyone with highlights
