      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A great intensive conditioner that adds instant and lasting softness and shine

I have highlighted mid-blonde hair, and was looking for something to alternate with my usual gentle conditioner. This sheer blonde conditioner seemed to offer intensive conditioning, which is great for my hair type as the highlights cause dryness and damage, and I also heat style my hair. However, I was wary of build-up, as I have fine hair that gets greasy easily with intensive / leave-in products.

      The packaging:
The conditioner comes in a pot, which is good quality and well-labelled. I find that I probably put a bit too much on because of the easy access, but it is good to see the thickness and texture of the product and be able to get as little or a s much as you want out at a time.

      The experience:
The conditioner smells quite clinical and slightly plasticky, but is fairly pleasant. The consistency is quite creamy and thick - it is difficult to spread thinly across the hair so I find starting near the roots and then working the excess gently through the crown of the hair is best for me - if start near the top it feels too heavy for my hair. I sometimes use a wide tooth comb to work it through, which works very well and hair feels softer if I do this. I generally leave it on a couple of mins, then rinse off in the shower. It rinses easily, and leaves hair instantly super-soft and manageable. Fab!

      The effects:
When blowdried, I find that my hair is very soft indeed after using this product. It is a little flyaway, but has tons of shine and responds well to styling / shine products such as wax / serum. The blonde colour isn't noticeably different, but I would probably prefer that anyway - I would rather dye my hair with dye rather than "accidentally" blondifying it with conditioner.

      Overall:
I use this conditioner about twice a week, and find it great for a boost of softness and shine. I find it works well as a contrast to my gentler normal products, as if I use sheer blonde products everyday I find I ge a bit of buildup and the shine effect of this conditioner is lessened. I paid about £5 for this product, which I think is fair and reasonable value as it lasts me several months. Recommended.

      Hair conditioning treatment.

      The Product
      = = = = = =
The product is part of the Sheer Blonde range by John Frieda. After recently using the moisturising shampoo & conditioner products in this range I was so impressed with the results that I thought I would try the Repair conditioning treatment as well. Although my hair isn't in really bad condition I find that daily things such as using straighteners, air conditioning and other things can damage my hair and make it feel dry and slightly brittle. I colour my hair every few months so this causes stress to my hair and can weaken it. This product is a conditioning treatment for all shades blonde including colour-treated or highlighted blonde hair. The treatment is an intense treatment that repairs textural damage, leaving hair silky, shiny and supple. The treatment also restores hair to leave it in a manageable condition. The intense formula of this product has tri-level protein complex which bonds to the hair, repairing surfaces and allowing fragile hair to regain elasticity and shimmer with a healthy high-gloss finish. The product certainly sounded as though it would leave my hair in much better condition than it was now and I was confident that it would live up to its claims. The product comes in a round tub which is a very pale golden yellow colour. The lid has a screw top which matches the colours of the tub. On the tub it states that the product is from the John Frieda range and that it's a conditioning treatment. On the tub you will also find a list of ingredients and how to use the product.

      Price/Availability
      = = = = = = = =
I purchased this from my local Boots store for £5.89 which is reasonable and around the same price as other hair masques/conditioning treatments. The product comes in a tub which holds 150ml of product. You can also buy a sachet of this product for about 99p which is enough for one use.

      Using the Product
      = = = = = = = =
I shampooed my hair as normal using the John Frieda Sheer Blonde Moisturising Shampoo and rinsed this out, ready to apply the conditioning treatment. Before applying the treatment I squeezed as much water out of my hair as possible to avoid the product from falling or dripping off my hair. For deep conditioning it tells you leave the product on for 15mins and then rinse thoroughly. For everyday conditioning simply smooth the treatment through hair concentrating on dry, damaged areas. Leave the product in for 3-5 minutes and then rinse out. The tub can be a little difficult to unscrew with wet hands so you may want to unscrew the tub before your hands get too wet. As soon as I opened the tub I could smell the product which had quite a strong but pleasant scent to it. The product was white in colour and was very shiny/glossy looking. I took a small handful of the conditioning treatment out and then put it through my hair concentrating on the ends which tends to get quite dry. I ensure my hair was covered from root to tip and then left the product in for approximately 2-3 minutes before rinsing it out. The product actually rinsed out quite easily, causing a few bubbles as it washed down the plug hole. The treatment was as easy as washing out any other conditioner.

      Results
      = = = =
I did my usual routine of wrapping my hair in a towel leaving for a few minutes for the towel to soak up some of the water then I went through my hair with a wide toothed comb. The comb glided through my hair really easily and I didn't come across any knots whilst combing it. I then used the hair dryer to dry my hair. As I dried my hair I could still smell the product which was a lovely, fresh, clean smell. After I had finished drying my hair I went into the bathroom to look at the results. My hair looked much brighter and the colour was more vibrant. My hair also looked shiny and healthier and it looked smooth, with no frizz or stray hairs sticking out from the top of my head. I was really impressed with the results. I loved that I could still smell some of the product in my hair as well as this gave it such a clean feeling.

      Overall Opinion
      = = = = = = =
I only tend to use the conditioning treatment once a week as a deep treatment for my hair as I often use straighteners and hair styling products so I like to give my hair some TLC at the end of the week. I was really impressed with the results of the product and was glad that it lived up to its claims of repairing hair and leaving it soft and supple. If I use the treatment once a week I think the tub will last me about 6 weeks before I have to purchase another tub. As my hair is only about shoulder length I don't need to use too much of the product which means it lasts a lot longer. In terms of value I think the product is very reasonable and is about the same price as other hair conditioning treatments/masks. If you have blonde hair and it needs a bit of TLC I would highly recommend this product for bright, healthy looking hair. The product didn't leave any residue in my hair and didn't make it feel weighed down or greasy.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Good conditioning treatment

I have long blonde hair and it needs to be taken care of. I straighten it every day and although I use heat defence products, I feel my hair is still a little worse for wear from all of the straightening.
The other week I decided to treat my hair with this John Frieda Sheer Blonde Hair Repair Intensive Conditioning Treatment! I'd had it on my shelf for a while, but hadn't got round to trying it out.

        Price
This product is available in Boots for £5.89 for a 150g tub, but is currently part of a 3 for 2 offer. It is also available in Superdrug for £5.89 or Tesco, Asda or Waitrose for £6.00, although it is 3 for £10 at Asda, which seems to be the best deal you can get on it.
        Product and claims
It comes in a deep, round gold coloured tub with the Sheer Blonde logo on the front, a brand by John Frieda exclusively made for blondes. The conditioning treatment is white in colour.
It claims to nourish and moisturise dry damaged hair, restoring it to a silky, shiny, manageable condition.
It can be used as an everyday conditioner, leaving the product on for 3-5 minutes, concentrating on areas that are dry or damaged or it can be used as a deep conditioning treatment, being left on for 15 minutes.

        Use
I find that this product is nice and thick and easy to apply. You don't have to apply loads with each application - a little goes a long way.
It has a lovely scent, but a difficult one to pinpoint, like Dove or Pantene - a fresh and clean smell. The scent is long lasting - I could still smell it on my hair the next day.
I personally found whether I apply it for 3-5 minutes or for 15 minutes there is little difference in the results, although I do prefer to leave it on for 15 minutes before rinsing as I somehow feel that it is doing more good!

After rinsing the product off my hair I find my hair feels softer, stronger and more moisturised. It is more managable than when I do not condition it at all, but I must admit I find it is easier to manage whichever conditioner I use so this isn't a quality that is unique to this product.
        Overall
Overall I do think this is a good conditioning treatment and it smells really nice, but I wouldn't use it as an every day conditioner as I feel it is quite expensive for this.
As a 15 minute conditioning treatment, it feels more luxurious than a normal conditioner and I think it's good to use a conditioning treatment on your hair every so often.
I don't think it particularly stands out from any of the other deep conditioning treatments that are available on the market and although I do love the smell, I would be just as likely choose a different conditioning treatment next time. I think they all work well and have yet to find one I dislike.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A great luxury treat for you locks

I used to experiment a lot with shampoo's and conditioners (where as now I tend to stick to Lush shampoo bars), and used the blonde shampoos a lot for a while. I tried both the Toni and Guy and Sheer Blonde ranges a lot and found some where better than others. A better one was the Sheer Blonde Hair Repair Intensive Conditioning Treatment.

This is an intensive conditioning treatment which claims to "nourishes strengthens, restoring dry, damaged blonde to silky, manageable condition". Sheer Blonde state that it is "specially developed for blondes with our salon expertise" and "intensive formula with a tri-level protein complex bonds to hair, repairing surface texture. Even fragile hair regains elasticity and shimmers with a healthy high-gloss finish". This all sounded pretty good and I was sold!

My hair has never been in a bad condition and rarely suffers from dryness or split ends etc, but I still like to give it a treat every now and then and this was why I had bought the Intensive conditioning treatment. Also at the time I had had a spate of drying my hair darker and now wanted to return to my natural blonde but the colour needed a little help to look healthier again.

The Intensive Conditioning Treatment can be brought from most major supermarkets and stores such as Boots and Superdrug. A 150 ml tub is around £5.80.

The treatment comes in a 150ml creamy gold plastic tub. It states "Sheer Blonde" in black and "Blonde Hair Repair Conditioning Treatment" in a dark gold. Inside the conditoner is a thick cream coloured consistency and smells divine! It smells flowery and rich.

          Directions of Use
Simply use after shampoo and smooth through the hair. I personally never used to put this on the roots of my hair as mine is prone to greasiness so I smoothed it in from the mid length to the ends. At the ends I applied it generously for an added boost. You then simply rinse it out after either 15 minutes for a deep treatment or 3-5 minutes for a more regular treat.

When you apply the conditioner it smoothes over your wet hair easily and sticks to it rather than running off which means it conditioners your hair longer. When you rinse out, it comes away from the hair easily and your hair continues to smell like the treatment all day even after blow drying.

When you hair is still wet you can already feel the effect on your hair and when it's dry the results keep getting better. When dry the hair feels nourished and really well conditioned, my hair also had much more shine to it and looked better overall.

I used to use this once a week for 15 minutes and over time I did see an improvement, I stopped getting the odd split ends I used to and my hair was much more manageable and was also less static and flyaway. I only stopped using it when I had gone to restock and it wasn't in any shops for some reason so I started using the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle instead, but recently it has reappeared in our local Boots and Superdrug so I have snapped up a tub

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          A decent blonde helper!

I have been using this product for a number of months now, having faith in the John Frieda collection of professional hair care I knew my money was going to be invested wisely in this lovely product!!

          Where From?
This product as well as others in the range can be found in supermarkets and chemists. Mine was bought from Tesco, it can be found on special offer quite frequently which is excellent seeing as it is normally £4.50 - £5.00 ish. It comes in a mustard yellow shaped plastic tub with a screw top lid and contains 150ml of product inside.

          What Does It Do?
On the packaging, its claims: nourishes and strengthens, restores dry damaged blonde to silky and manageable. Intensive formula with tri level protein complex bonds to the hair, repairing surface texture. Hair regains elasticity and shimmers with a high gloss finish.

          Usage.
The thick creamy white conditioner is easy to access from the tub, not so easy if you are in a shower it has to be said, and is slightly fumbly when you've got nowhere to put it with wet hands - but it is quite easily opened and screwed shut again.

The directions according to the product itself - Use weekly for intensive conditioning. Apply treatment, comb through and leave for 15 minutes for optimal conditioning. For everyday conditioning - smooth treatment through hair concentraiting on dry and damaged areas. Leave for 3-5 minutes.

I don't get time to wait 15 minutes so usually use it for the 3-5 minute option. I use about the same size as 2 50p pieces as I have long hair. It goes on very smoothly and smells sort of lemony, it smells like..I don't know, like you'd expect products for blonde hair to smell like, light and fruity. It smells like the other sheer blonde stuff in the range. It feels quite light and not too gloopy, and is not sticky or anything.

It has to be rinsed off quite well as with all conditioners you don't want to leave any residue. When you are rinsing it off it's like your hair is like spun silk so you feel like it's actually done something, it feels soft and smooth whilst rinsing it off. After a few minutes off rinsing you're good to go.

It leaves a slight fragrance to your hair, not too strong just a nice gentle waft. Once hair is dry it appears things like split ends etc have gone, it smoothes down the hair shafts to keep them all nice and neat, and gives a slight gleam to the hair. It definitely helps to keep hair in check and helps with that over processed feeling you get if you are a coloured blonde. Personally my hair feels slightly dry still but after years of bleach there's only so much one product can do and this certainly goes a long way in helping it. Not just for special occasion,s try it and see what it does for you!!

          Well worth trying

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Hair Repair Intensive Conditioning Treatment

Description: Brand: John Frieda / Hair Care Type: Hair Moisturiser / Repair / Nourishes and moisturises dry, damaged hair restoring it to be silky and manageable.

I have blonde highlighted hair which I visit my salon around every 10 to 12 weeks to have redone. I also straighten my hair (I do use GHDs and straightening heat protection spray too) so have to take extra care to ensure that it doesn't become dry or damaged. I have never been lucky enough to be one of those women with gorgeously manageable hair and so often try new products which promise to help me keep it in condition and leave it smooth and silky.

I use other products in the John Frieda range, I regularly buy their shampoos for blonde and highlighted hair (they also sell a brunette and a red range) and also Frizz Ease, a serum which helps to tame frizz and leave hair looking sleek and shiny. They are not the cheapest haircare range (expect to pay around £4.50 for each shampoo or conditioner) but not too expensive either and having tried lots of others, these remain firm favourites with me. You can purchase a 150ml tub of this conditioning treatment from Boots for £5.79 and also gain Advantage Points. You can also find this product for sale in most chemists and some supermarkets too.

The product comes in a gold plastic pot with a screw off lid. It is thick and white and has quite a strange fragrance which surprised me the first time I used it. I tend to find that most intensive repair type conditioners smell quite sweet or fruity. This one reminded me a little of the smell of a hair salon, a little bit sweet but with a slightly strange undertone. It isn't unpleasant though and the fragrance doesn't remain in your hair after using.

John Freida tell us that this product

"nourishes and moisturises dry, damaged hair restoring it to a silky, shiny, manageable condition"

It is easy to use as you just apply the right amount and then smooth it through your hair. Be careful not to use too much though because a little goes a long way and too much could leave your hair looking a little heavy or greasy. I find that it is easiest to apply an amount similar to the size of a ten pence piece, then rub it between my hands first to allow even distribution.

The product can be used as an everyday conditioner by using a little less and just rinsing it out immediately (use in place of your normal conditioner) and can also be used as a weekly intensive treatment. To do this, just smooth the required amount through your hair and leave for 15 minutes. If you have a shower cap, putting that on can help enhance deep conditioning treatments, especially with a hot damp towel on the top. This also feels fantastically relaxing and is a great way to chill out and feel pampered if you have the time!

Once you are ready to remove the product, simply rinse with clean warm water, ensure that all product is removed so there is no residue and then dry and style as normal. I find that using this product as a weekly conditioner is best for my hair, and even when I am blow drying it, I can feel the difference. My hair is definitely smoother and always feels in better condition, it is often hard to achieve shine with blonde hair but as with the shampoos in the range, this product definitely enhances blonde and helps it appear shiny and manageable.

Because a little of this product goes a long way, it does last quite well too, so even if there are cheaper options on the shelves, I am happy to buy this one because it genuinely gives me results. My only real feedback would be the fragrance, which could be a lot better. Thankfully, it doesn't linger in your hair after rinsing but it would be nice for it to smell fab and leave your hair smelling delicious too. My hair definitely seems in better condition after using this conditioning treatment and feels smooth and hydrated, especially after using a hot towel for extra impact. It is also significantly cheaper than some salon conditioning treatments too and therefore a more cost effective way of treating your hair to some tender loving care!

Simply because of the fragrance, I am giving this product 4 out of 5 Dooyoo stars. I do like it a lot though and will continue to buy it regularly, at least until I find something which works as well and smells better! If you have blonde hair, whether it is natural or treated, this product is well worth trying, along with many other items in the John Frieda range.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            quite good

I have had mixed success with the John Frieda range. I used their blonding shampoos for a while, before giving them a rest. I think the ingredients do help maintain a brighter blonde, but the prices can be a bit offputting. Buying a shampoo and conditioner would usually cost me ten pounds.

Another part of their range is the repair intensive treatment. It is is like a conditioner, only more heavy duty. It is designed for overly dry and damaged hair which has seen better days. Unfortunately, cold weather, radiators and a bad diet can play havoc with hair, so a good hair regime is vital in winter months. Sometimes, it is not enough to just shampoo and condition, a deeper condition is required maybe once of twice a week to put back nutrients into the hair.

This comes in a smart golden pot and is designed for all types of blonde hair, so don't be fooled into thinking because it's golden it's for golden blonde. Unscrew the lid and apply after a shampoo. It is easy to take out, just take a blob between the fingers and work gently through the ends of the hair. You can put it on the roots, but don't overdo it or you will weigh the hair down.

Leave on for about five minutes and then rinse with warm water. It will take a good washing to get it all out, because the stuff is quite heavy duty and clings to the hair. Once you have rinsed, pat dry with a towel.

When I tried it, I followed with a blow dry. It had definitely left the hair feeling soft and silkier, though I am not sure it was any more manageable. The hair did feel smoother and moisturised though, so that bit worked. The price is dear at nearly six pounds a tub, but it should last for a couple of months.

I liked this product, though I think the Aussie deep conditioner does a similar job and is a little cheaper.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

A great intensive conditioer that keeps blonde hair looking healthy and shiny

I bought this along with the shampoo and conditioner in the same range as they were on a 3 for 2 offer in Boots. This intensive conditioner is usually £5.37 for a 150ml pot, which is not a bad price for this type of product.

According to John Frieda this product is specially developed for blondes with his salon expertise, to nourish as it restores shine and texture. The intensive formula has a tri-level protein complex which bonds to the hair, repairing the surface texture. It renews elasticity in even fragile hair, resulting in hair that shimmers with a healthy high-gloss finish.

The directions tell us to first shampoo the hair, then for seriously dry, brittle hair apply to the hair, comb through and leave on for 15 minutes before rinsing, and use once a week. Alternatively, for everyday conditioning smooth through the hair, concentrating on dry, damaged areas, leave on for 3-5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

The treatment comes in a round plastic pot with a screw-on lid which is easy to open but does fasten securely. The conditioner itself is fairly thick textured but not as slimy as a lot of intensive conditioners tend to be. The major thing I notice as soon as I open the pot though is the rather strong scent. It's a very strong synthetic, chemically scent, with a very slightly perfumed undertone, but the main scent reminds me a lot of chlorine, and it's not at all pleasant.

Using the product is easy, but I find if I comb my hair through after applying it all it does is take all the product out of my hair, rather than distributing it through the hair, so it's better to just smooth it through the hair with your hands. How much you will need to use will depend obviously on how long your hair is, but I find the product easy to distribute, and it smoothes easily through the hair, so I don't need to use as much as with many other intensive conditioners I've used before.

The product doesn't feel too heavy while it's on my hair, but when it comes to rinsing it out it takes forever, and it does make my hair feel very heavy and unclean whilst rinsing, and even once I finally manage to rinse it all out it still feels like it's weighing my hair down. I've tried using it both the suggested ways, and this is no different however long I leave it no my hair for.

Once my hair dries it feels Ok for a while, but it soon starts to feel quite lank and look quite dirty and almost greasy. I would never use this as an everyday conditioner because of this, it's just too intensive. However, once I've washed my hair again it goes back to looking clean and healthy, so as a once a week treatment it's fine.

Using it as I do, as a weekly treat for my hair, I've found this product does make a difference to my hair. My hair is naturally smooth and sleek, but this product seems to make it even smoother and keeps the dreaded frizz and flyaways at bay, more so than any product I've tried previously, and the results do last for the full week even though I wash my hair every day. It's also given my hair a slightly improved shine and it does look really healthy, I've even had comments on how healthy and shiny my hair's been looking since I started using this product once a week.

Overall I'm very pleased with this product. I had expected it to be pretty average like the shampoo and conditioner in the same range, but this one did actually live up to it's claims. It's kept my hair looking and feeling soft, smooth and healthy, with an extra added shine. This one I may actually buy again.
