Advantages: Hair felt smooth and shiny

Disadvantages: Expensive and didn't really notice the light enhancing properties

This is a lovely shampoo which I first tried earlier this year on a Boots offer when I received a voucher for £2 off this product.
I wouldn't normally buy the more professional ranges as they can work out expensive but with the voucher I decided to give it a go.

I have long coloured blonde hair which is a darker blonde than bleached and I have weaved highlights as well. I am actually dark brown with grey streaks but haven't seen that for decades!

The shampoo is a lovely creamy texture and it smells beautiful.

I took it on holiday to the windiest place in the UK to try it out. I often visit the Outer Hebrides where I go to the island Of North Uist. A friend who also goes there told me about the shampoo so I was looking forward to seeing if it would keep my hair soft and shiny. Usually when I go there no shampoo works well as the wind can be relentless and I end up with a wild look in 5 minutes!

I tried this shampoo and it was brilliant. I actually had lovely soft hair and it didn't need as much time with the straighteners! Even after a walk in the hills it was still reasonably in shape.

It has light enhancers in the shampoo designed to bring out the glistening highlights. It also says on the website that it gently cleanses by ridding hair of darkening and dulling build-up from tap water and typical conditioning and styling products.
I can't say I noticed the glistening highlights particularly-no one commented on it either but the condition was improved overall and it felt soft and smooth. It also contains brightening extracts of natural caramel, honey and wheat germ and if you have lighter more bleached blonde shades there are other products in the range to suit you.

Having tried this at a price which was reduced, I have been looking out to buy more during the year and have been really pleased to find it on offer in many places. Superdrug have had it recently for buy one get one half price and a similar offer has been at Waitrose and at Boots at different times.

RRP is £4.49 for 250ml

If you go to www.johnfreida.co.uk you can have a good look at the claims made for the shampoo and there is a lot of good detail there about the other products in the range.

In conclusion I would say if you can get the shampoo on offer give it a go. I don't think I would pay full price though as with the conditioner you would be looking at almost £9.
I have only given it a moderate rating as I wasn't able to notice the light enhancing effects it claims, but it is a great conditioning shampoo especially good for dry coloured blonde hair.

Summary: A Good Shampoo worth trying if you can find it on offer.
