Advantages: Makes hair appear thicker and fuller.

Disadvantages: Leaves a slight residue.

My hair is quite thick but as straight as can be, and I longed to have hair with some body and uplift and life to it...

I must own just about every electric appliance there is to use on hair, but whatever I did, my hair just sat there...looking lifeless.

Then I tried this Thickening Lotion, it is from John Frieda's 'ready to wear' range.

The bottle claims that it "transforms flat hair to full, fine hair to thick, in minutes. Adds instant lift and incredible thickness"....

And amazingly it does!

The idea is that you apply the product to the root area of your hair, and then blow dry it, the product really helps to make your hair have body and height. And even if you don't bother or are unable to blow dry it properly, a light spray and brush through with the product and then just a normal dry with a hairdryer, still leaves hair looking fuller than it did before.

The price seems to vary a lot, from shop to shop, £3.75 to £4.25 being the normal sort of range, but it is worth looking out for special offers...

Recently Tesco had it at a cheaper price, but Boots were giving away a free hair mouse with it...so keep an eye open for whichever bargain suits you best.

The only drawback with the Thickening Lotion is that it leaves a fine coating on your hair, which doesn't leave it as soft as you might like...if someone runs their fingers through your hair, it is obvious that you have used some sort of product on it. However it is easy to wash the residue away and I think the improved appearance more than compensates for this one problem.
