Advantages: none
Disadvantages: sticky , gives hair a greasy look
I bought this product thinking that because it was John Frieda it would be good, he is always recommended in magazines for having products that really do make hair sleeker and nicer, and I am always looking for a good product so I thought I may as well buy and try out. I had seen an advert in a magazine for this product with a girl with really sleek hair so I thought maybe this might just work, I was very wrong. I should have noticed in the advert there wasn't any before or after pictures, and also when most pictures are shown the models have naturally straight hair and have just had their hair curled for the photo shoot, I am not easily fooled it's obvious what is natural and what isn't. I went into my local shop and got myself his Wind-Down Relaxing Cream, it was to be applied to hair then the hair was to be blow dried so I put a small coin sized amount on my pals and then rubbed it in, I have thick hair so I don't expect miracles but I know my hair can go very straight and thin when done right. I had applied the product to my hair so now for the real test. I picked up the hairdryed and brush and got the nozzle facing down onto the brush to straighten it, at first it made a nice job but my hair felt very sticky and I hadn't put too much on also I was blowdrying it properly. I stopped after a while because the hair just wouldn't lie right it was sticky loooked greasy not shiny and was just horrible. I had to wash the product out of my hair because it was making it horrible. After this terrible experience I usually get people to recommend a product for me, two I am needing to get told about are the Clinique blow drying straight balm and the Umberto Giannini blow dry cream also, so if anyone knows about these please could you tell me if they work. Now I mostly just use a serum which makes my hair look very shiny it feels soft and looks healthy. For the moment I will keep away from John Frieda pr
oducts, so hopefully by now you will have understood that this is not a good buy.

- 11/04/02 I've also tried this product and thought it was rubbish. It's a shame because the 'Frizz Ease" serum works well so this was a dissapointment. |
