Advantages: Calms down curls, Makes styling easier, Gets rid of frizz when used on hair that is still reasonably wet

Disadvantages: Does not create the 'wavy' effect shown in the adverts - though of course it depends on your hair type!

I have VERY curly hair which I have struggled with since the age of about 11. Before this age I had reasonably straight hair and even dreamed of having a perm to make it a little more wavy when I was older!! This of course is sadly ironic, since I have tried strenously with various products, styling techniques and hair cuts to get my curly mass of hair under control - if not straight!!

I bought 'Wind down' because my hair naturally forms into ringlets and I wanted to achieve a more relaxed curl - tousled effect which seems to fashionable at the moment!

Once I'd washed my hair, I used John Frieda hair serum (which I always do) whilst it was soaking wet, then left my hair for five minutes to dry off a bit. I then applied two small pumps of the lotion to one half of my hair and another two to the other, combing it through with my hands. Leaving it to dry by itself, the end result was still ringlets, but less tight and not as frizzy. I hoped that my hair would've taken on a more 'wavy' resemblence ( similar to that shown in their adverts ) and so I was a bit dissappointed - however, I suppose it worked to a certain extent!!

Next a tried it when I wanted to straighten my hair. I carried out the same process as above, except I added mouse before the 'Wind Down' and then some smoothing balm afterwards( only a tiny bit )blow drying it straight using a paddle brush. This produced a far better affect - making my hair easier to straighten ( since the curls weren't as strong ) and creating a longer lasting effect. People are always asking me how I manage to get my hair so straight and to get it to stay that way - and I've certainly recommended 'Wind Down' to friends who have similarly have curly hair!

Overall, I'd say 'Wind Down' is most effective when used to straighten hair, and in conjunction with other essential products such as mouse, serum, hairspray etc. 'Wind Down' i
s probably just as effective as many other straightening balms out there, but works nonetheless!!

I've got very curly hair and i found that the wind down relaxing creme dried my hair out. If you are interested in trying other products for curly hair look at the products page at http://www.curlyworld.com /products

Im glad wind-down relaxing creme worked for you. I've got curly hair too, but I found this product useless.

Have you tried the relaxing creme on its own? I was just wondering, because the serum and mousse may be the products working so well on your hair, and not the relaxing creme. I know that John Frieda hair serum can be used to straighten hair, and its very good. Just a thought.
