      Advantages

      Disadvantages

does the job and looks great on the side of your bath - Advantages: smells great, does fluff up your hair, works best with the glossing serum and no conditioner - Disadvantages: bottles and fiddly tops aren't exactly ideal for slippery hands, 'where are my lenses??' moments in the morning

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

If you are not drawn to the John Frieda ready to wear range when browsing for a new shampoo by the dark blue unusual colour of the bottle, then the professional looking shape and style of the bottle will get you. The glistening shampoo is for fine to normal, dull or dry hair. And is sold for around £4 for a generous sized bottle. It claims to have a unique glossing formula, which will deliver extreme shine and instant suppleness. I would not say that it gave extreme shine, but it did leave my hair after blow-drying looking allot sleeker and shiner than normal, and also taming any stray hairs or split ends. My hair was also noticeably softer to the touch and this effect lasted the whole day, two friends even commented on how nice my hair was looking When I first used the shampoo I noticed it had a rather odd smell though you do become accustomed to it. A rich lather is created with only a small amount of shampoo being needed so it will last longer than many other shampoos would, and rinses out easily, when I accidentally got some of the shampoo in my eyes as we all do from time to time it did not sting like many other products, so this shampoo may be good to use on younger children when you need that extra shiny look for those special occasions. I would recommend this shampoo to anyone whose hair is dry or has lots of flyaway ends that they would prefer not to be seen. It has worked wonders for my hair and I hope it has the same effect on others.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

It must be a man thing. I have very ordinary hair which resists any type of styling, preferring to go it's own way. Hence, after years of trying to persuade it into some kind of fashionable style, spending pounds of my hard earned cash in the process, I have admitted defeat and had it cut very short and spiky. My man, on the other hand, has fantastic hair, the sort of blonde, corkscrew curls that most women would die for - and he hates it. It tangles and snarls and, as a result, he hacks at it with an Afro comb which gives him split ends. Then our local Safeway had John Frieda Glistening Shampoo on special offer. The bottle claims that the shampoo " gently cleans + encourages suppleness + shine" and also that it "enhances natural highlights". Its rehydrating formula allegedly "saturates dry, distressed hair with moisturisers, giving it renewed bounce and resilience", while " protective conditioners detangle, smooth and enhance natural highlights". Yeah, right....but it actually DOES do everything it claims to do on the bottle! The shampoo is thick and creamy in appearance with a faint, pleasant smell reminiscent of violets. It is not however too highly perfumed - you'd never persuade my man to use any product containing 'scent'! It lathers beautifully, works equally well in soft and hard water and rinses away leaving wet hair squeaky clean. Once dry, hair feels soft and silky and actually does glisten.Even my husbands normal 'explosion in a mattress factory' style is tamed and he can comb his hair without constantly having to hack out knots and tangles. True,it's a bit more expensive than some shampoos but it can frequently be found as a three for two offer, particularly at Safeways. And, since we started using it, we have no longer found it necessary to use a separate conditioner which makes it even better value. This particular shampoo is reccommended for dry and chemic
ally treated hair. My hair is in fact normal, but this shampoo seems to work perfectly. ( I would think it might be too 'rich' for greasy hair). An added, although unexpected bonus, was that we both found that our hair suffered less sun damage this year than normal, although the product doesn't claim to have any UV protection properties. It works for us... why not see if it works for you?
