It must be a man thing. I have very ordinary hair which resists any type of styling, preferring to go it's own way. Hence, after years of trying to persuade it into some kind of fashionable style, spending pounds of my hard earned cash in the process, I have admitted defeat and had it cut very short and spiky. My man, on the other hand, has fantastic hair, the sort of blonde, corkscrew curls that most women would die for - and he hates it. It tangles and snarls and, as a result, he hacks at it with an Afro comb which gives him split ends. Then our local Safeway had John Frieda Glistening Shampoo on special offer.

The bottle claims that the shampoo " gently cleans + encourages suppleness + shine" and also that it "enhances natural highlights". Its rehydrating formula allegedly "saturates dry, distressed hair with moisturisers, giving it renewed bounce and resilience", while " protective conditioners detangle, smooth and enhance natural highlights". Yeah, right....but it actually DOES do everything it claims to do on the bottle!

The shampoo is thick and creamy in appearance with a faint, pleasant smell reminiscent of violets. It is not however too highly perfumed - you'd never persuade my man to use any product containing 'scent'!
It lathers beautifully, works equally well in soft and hard water and rinses away leaving wet hair squeaky clean. Once dry, hair feels soft and silky and actually does glisten.Even my husbands normal 'explosion in a mattress factory' style is tamed and he can comb his hair without constantly having to hack out knots and tangles. True,it's a bit more expensive than some shampoos but it can frequently be found as a three for two offer, particularly at Safeways. And, since we started using it, we have no longer found it necessary to use a separate conditioner which makes it even better value.

This particular shampoo is reccommended for dry and chemic
ally treated hair. My hair is in fact normal, but this shampoo seems to work perfectly. ( I would think it might be too 'rich' for greasy hair). An added, although unexpected bonus, was that we both found that our hair suffered less sun damage this year than normal, although the product doesn't claim to have any UV protection properties.

It works for us... why not see if it works for you?
