John Frieda Frizz Ease 3 Day Straight Spray
by rhiax
I bought John Frieda's 3 day straight after hearing many positive reviews of the product and thought it would be ideal for my hair. I have slightly wavy but mainly frizzy hair with many flyaways. I do straighten my hair after washing as the fizz cannot seem to be tamed any other way. Due to very dry skin and painful scalp I wash my hair ... every 3 days and anymore is painful so I thought 3 day straight would be ideal cause that's about the time I go between washing.
The product comes in nice packaging and looks very attractive. The smell is actually really nice which I wasn't expecting too much. However, on use the product doesn't seem to do anything for my hair. By the third day I believe my hair looks exactly the same as when I do not use the product.
The back of the bottle suggests using 7-15 sprays which is nowhere near enough for my hair which is medium-long and thick. The bottle suggests increasing the amount for my type of hair but I don't feel I get coverage until I get to around 30 sprays so I have to use a lot of the product.
I am currently using up the bottle as I don't find it has any adverse effects other than not really working and I don't particularly want to through away something I've paid for.
Perhaps this product would work better for people with curly hair? It has crossed my mind that perhaps it is working but only to a certain extend so I can't really tell with my wavy hair.
Personally, I would not buy this product again as I feel it was a waste of money but I have heard positive reviews so I would probably suggest it if a curly haired friend was looking for a similar product. Read the complete review |

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shine Release Moisturising Shampoo
by millyshark
I'm really not one of those people who buys a hair product based on the flashy sales and adverts - my early experience with 'Pantene' shampoo when it first came out in the 90's put pay to that. But going off my Mums advice not to go cheap on my hair I have always used products based on performance and not price where I can. I started ... using John Freda Shampoo's and Conditioner's for brunettes a few years ago after a recommendation. I have never been disappointed and haven't used anything else since.
The bottles are a good size and shape for use with wet hands. 10 years and I've never dropped it and never spilled a drop!
It's not filled with noxious perfume smells but doesn't smell like you're putting a concoction of chemicals on your head.
The texture isn't too runny or squodgy and is strangely satisfying when you squeeze it onto your hand!
It goes a long way. I have quite long hair and a small amount in the palm of my hand is plenty. If I'm a bit strapped for cash to shell out at the salon this stuff keeps my hair looking in good condition regardless.
And yes, it does leave your hair feeling all silky smooth and looking shiny too!
Shampoo twice for extra effect if you're going out!!
If you knock the side of the bath trust me, they will be the last bottles to go! These bottles are sturdily little mites!
The price can indeed be off-putting, you'll find it circling around the £5 mark per bottle but you'll rarely catch me buying individual bottles as it is frequently on 3 for £10 offers in Morrisons, Asda, Boots (and presumably others). I grab three bottles when I see them on offer (a combination of 2x Shampoo to 1x conditioner suits me perfectly) and that lasts a long time at one wash every other day. I usually end up with a little collection in the bathroom cupboard but its worth it ;) Read the complete review |

John Frieda Frizz Ease Thermal Protection Serum
by dooberry77
My hair is naturally wavy and I use my hair straighteners most days, as it is dyed Blonde the condition is very dry and my hair can be very 'fly away' and frizzy at times so using a good product to tame my hair is essential. I have used many different products from the John Frieda range and found this one is one of the best for my hair ... and I use it every time I use my straighteners.
The packaging
The product comes in a plastic see through yellow bottle with a white plastic lid. The name of the product is clearly visible on the front of the bottle in blue writing, it also states that it 'eliminates frizz.' The back of the bottle gives the size f the bottle (50ml) gives some contact information from the brand and gives the directions of use.
The product.
The product itself is a clear serum. It has a light scent which I would describe as a fresh clean smell. To use simple remove the plastic lid to reveal the dispenser pump, push it down gently and the serum is released. You only need to use a really small amount, 1 small pump of serum into the palm of your hand, then rub your hands together and distribute evenly throughout the hair, avoiding the roots as this can make the hair look quite greasy. There is no need to rinse out the product, just style as usual and it can be applied to both wet and dry hair. I have only used it on my hair when it is dry and apply it directly before using my hair straighteners. The product is widely available from beauty stores and supermarkets as well as online stores and usually retails around £5.99 - £6.29 mark.
The verdict.
This product is great, it definitely helps to control frizz and because it has a thermal protection formula it helps protect the hair against heat damage. Because only a little of the product is needed it last's ages which is great and it does say that once opened the product can be used for up to 36 months (on the back of the bottle) so it has a really long shelf life . After using this my hair is more manageable with frizz eliminated. Read the complete review |
