John Frieda Lightening Spray
by KaraJane
My hair is naturally dark blonde, but I have had bleach blonde strips dyed for as long as I can remember. Whilst my hair retains the blonde colour for a long time, I begin to notice my roots after only a few weeks. This product is the best on the market for combatting this problem, I use it every few days, a few sprays onto my roots and ... I really notice the difference. I have also used it at the end of summer to keep the lighter colour that I get from the sun.
The small bottle lasts surprisingly longer than I thought it would, even when I use it to spray all over my hair, it can last me anywhere between 1-4 months when using regularly.
Definitely leads to lighter hair - my hairdresser noticed that my hair was lighter 6 months after dying it, and this was over winter when the sun hadn't lightened it!
My only problem with the product is the smell, it's not overly strong but it is noticeable, and I notice it on my hair throughout the day when I've used the product. Nothing a spritz of perfume wouldn't cover though!
Overall I am very pleased with this product and I don't know what I'd do if they discontinued it - my bank balance has got used to the fewer visits to the hairdresser!! Read the complete review |

John Frieda Precision Foam Colour Hair Dye
by Captainreview
I have been dying my hair for several years now; naturally it is a "mousey", halfway between blonde and brown colour so I dye it light blonde.
For a few years I had just been using the cheapest home hair dyes but I was starting to get a bit disappointed by them. I found that they often looked a bit brassy a couple of ... weeks after being dyed and very un-natural.
I bought John Frieda Precision Foam in Extra Light Natural Blonde one week when it was offer, reduced from £10 to about £7. This was about 7 months ago and I have been using it ever since.
The foam takes a bit of getting used to if you haven't used it before. You mix the colour and the developer together, as you do with other hair dyes, but then you very gently rock it, rather than shaking it, and squirt it out to create a foam which you apply to your hair.
The gloves which come with this dye are thick, black rubber gloves which are much better quality than the cheap, clear plastic ones you get with other dyes. And the cuffs are elasticated!
Also, it comes with a proper mini tube of conditioner, rather than just a sachet. I use the conditioner once a week (with my normal conditioner on the other days) and I find that it lasts me a month. As I do my roots once a month, this is perfect for me.
The colour looks great, not too "fake" and it doesn't fade between washes. I also use a shampoo for blonde hair but the difference between this and other home hair dyes is quite noticeable. Read the complete review |

John Frieda Frizz Ease 3 Day Straight Spray
by rhiax
I bought John Frieda's 3 day straight after hearing many positive reviews of the product and thought it would be ideal for my hair. I have slightly wavy but mainly frizzy hair with many flyaways. I do straighten my hair after washing as the fizz cannot seem to be tamed any other way. Due to very dry skin and painful scalp I wash my hair ... every 3 days and anymore is painful so I thought 3 day straight would be ideal cause that's about the time I go between washing.
The product comes in nice packaging and looks very attractive. The smell is actually really nice which I wasn't expecting too much. However, on use the product doesn't seem to do anything for my hair. By the third day I believe my hair looks exactly the same as when I do not use the product.
The back of the bottle suggests using 7-15 sprays which is nowhere near enough for my hair which is medium-long and thick. The bottle suggests increasing the amount for my type of hair but I don't feel I get coverage until I get to around 30 sprays so I have to use a lot of the product.
I am currently using up the bottle as I don't find it has any adverse effects other than not really working and I don't particularly want to through away something I've paid for.
Perhaps this product would work better for people with curly hair? It has crossed my mind that perhaps it is working but only to a certain extend so I can't really tell with my wavy hair.
Personally, I would not buy this product again as I feel it was a waste of money but I have heard positive reviews so I would probably suggest it if a curly haired friend was looking for a similar product. Read the complete review |
