Advantages: gentle, price from Poundshop, clean hair, scent
Disadvantages: nothing really
*Baby Shampoo - Camomile*
Johnson's offer a few different shampoos for use on your baby or young childs hair. There is the original formula, a shampoo designed to combat tangles in the hair and the camomile shampoo which I will be discussing today.
This shampoo is for light and shiny hair. It has the Johnson's 'no more tears' formula and is designed to be gentle on your childs hair and skin. It has been ophthormologist tested. This shampoo has camomile extract which is perfect for keeping blonde hair looking healthy. It is soap and paraben free too!
This shampoo is presented in a curvy plastic bottle. The important product information is on the back including ingredients and product claims. The shampoo itself is a lime green colour and transparent. The bottle has a flip top cap and small dispensing hole. This shampoo has a 12months shelf life and the bottle can be recycled.
*Price and Availability*
This shampoo is available in a 300ml or a 500ml sized bottle. Boots stock the 500ml bottle priced at £3.70. I personally bought the 300ml bottle from Poundland which works out cheaper ml for ml.
My son is 4 and has very short hair. As you can imagine, he doesn't go through a massive amount of shampoo as we wash his beautiful hair twice a week. Up until recently, we had been using Body Shop Burriti Baby Shampoo on his hair as he had quite a lot of dry patches on his scalp. These cleared up well so when it came to replacing his shampoo, I decided to shop around and try something different.
I trust the Johnson's brand so when I spotted this camomile shampoo, I thought we would give it a try. I'm not a fan of the regular Johnson's baby shampoo. It is a good shampoo, I just don't like the smell of it to be honest. I thought this camomile shampoo may smell more appealing. The bottle is well designed and easy to grip even with slippy hands - essential when you have a squirmy baby! My son is not keen on getting his hair washed despite the no more tears claims - it is always a battle!
This shampoo has a pleasant consistency. It is gel like as you would expect and neither too gloopy nor too thin - just right. Once my sons hair is soaked, I only need the smallest of blobs to fully cleanse his hair. If you have a child with longer hair, you would need more of course! The scent of this shampoo is lovely. It is a gentle, calming scent which has sweet undertones that remind me of fresh apples! It is quite fresh and soapy too. Fresh enough to use in the morning yet soothing enough for bedtime baths too.
This shampoo lathers up well - a thick and cleansing lather. It rinses effortlessly from my sons hair and doesn't leave any residue at all. Ultimately, we like this shampoo. My sons hair always feels and looks clean after using this shampoo. I don't use conditioner on his short hair as he is only little but we have been impressed by how soft this shampoo leaves his hair. It is incredibly gentle and hasn't irritated his scalp in any way. The no more tears claim is founded as this doesn't irritate my sons eyes and the only tears are from the thought of getting his hair washed in general!
My son has lovely blond hair and this shampoo does help to keep it looking shiny. I didn't actually realise that camomile extract was designed to keep light hair looking fresh so this was an added bonus for us. The subtle scent lingers on my sons hair. His hair smells absolutely gorgeous when I snuggle in to him before bed - much more pleasant than the original scent in my opinion.
Overall I can recommend this camomile shampoo. It is perfectly gentle, smells gorgeous and keeps my sons beautiful blond hair looking fab. It is mega cheap too if purchased from Poundland. I bought our bottle around 6 weeks ago and we have only used around 1/6th of the bottle with twice weekly use. Excellent value for money and well worth the quid we paid and more!
Thanks for reading x
