Advantages: smells nice, leaves hair feeling soft
Disadvantages: a bit pricier than other brands, but is regularly on special offer
Packaging
Johnson's Baby Shampoo is packaged in a clear tear-drop shaped bottle with a yellow lid/cap and is available in various sized bottles. The shampoo itself is yellow. The label on the front of the bottle displays 'no more tears', which is a registered trademark. The label also includes the list of ingredients, health warnings and details for contacting the company.
The label makes the following claims about the product:
*Our best ever shampoo to leave your baby's hair feeling softer than ever before
* Foams easier and faster
* Best for Baby - Best for You!
* 8 out of 10 British midwives use Johnson's Baby products on their own children
Using the Product
The shampoo is easily dispensed from the bottle by simply flicking the lid/cap open. I always wet the baby's head first, before pouring the shampoo into my hand, not directly onto the baby's head. I then gently lather the shampoo, which,as the label claims, foams easily. My son is crazy in the bath splashing everywhere, kicking his legs, flailing his arms with joy, so hence whilst I am trying to rinse the shampoo off it inevitably it gets in his eyes. The statement and registered trademark 'no more tears ' is true to its claim. It doesn't make his eyes sore at all. When he has finished his antics in the bath I give him a quick pat dry and concentrate on getting his hair dry with a towel. His hair feels so soft and smells so clean, just as babies should.
I absolutely love this product (as I do all Johnson's products). I have only used two other products on my baby's hair, one being a medicated cradle cap shampoo, the other being Boots baby shampoo. I would rate Johnson's over other products always, mainly because of the typical baby smell that emanates from the bottle. Also, I think that Johnson's is such an institution!
Price
I will say that I only ever buy it when it is on special offer at the supermarkets and stock up. I normally pick it up at £1 per bottle or on a buy one get one free offer (at around £2+ per bottle) and I prefer the compact 200ml bottle size. We travel a lot with the baby so they are far less bulky and space consuming.
Overall it is a great product, which does exactly what it says on the bottle and that is good enough for me to keep on buying.
Summary: I will keep on buying
